The Manager of Inventory and Planning is responsible for overseeing the inventory management and planning functions within the Supply Chain department. This role ensures optimal inventory levels, efficient planning processes, and effective coordination between unionized and non-unionized workforce segments. This role focuses on collaborating with internal and external suppliers while navigating a unionized workforce to drive efficient inventory practices, streamline processes, and align demand and supply. The manager will ensure compliance with labor agreements and regulatory requirements while maintaining cost effective inventory solutions.
**Location:** Hybrid, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
**Job Responsibilities:**
+ **Inventory Management** :
+ Develop and implement inventory control procedures.
+ Monitor inventory levels and ensure accuracy.
+ Conduct regular audits and reconcile discrepancies.
+ Optimize stock levels to meet demand without overstocking.
+ Collaborate with warehousing and distribution teams to optimize space utilization and stock flow.
+ **Planning** :
+ Create and maintain production schedules.
+ Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials.
+ Forecast demand and adjust plans accordingly.
+ Collaborate with sales and marketing to align inventory with sales forecasts.
+ Work with procurement teams to develop supply strategies that ensure the timely availability of materials and products.
+ Collaborate with production and logistics teams to align supply plans with production schedules and capacity.
+ Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply chain disruptions to maintain smooth operations.
+ **Team Management** :
+ Lead and manage a team of inventory and planning staff.
+ Provide training and development opportunities.
+ Foster a collaborative work environment and collaboration between cross-functional teams, including procurement, logistics, and sales.
+ Address and resolve workforce issues, including those related to unionized employees.
+ **Coordination and Communication** :
+ Liaise with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
+ Communicate effectively with both unionized and non-unionized staff.
+ Ensure compliance with labor agreements and company policies.
+ Facilitate regular team meetings and updates.
+ **Continuous Improvement** :
+ Identify areas for process improvement.
+ Implement best practices in inventory and planning.
+ Utilize data and analytics to drive decision-making.
+ Leverage inventory management software (e.g., ERP, MRP systems) to enhance decision-making and streamline operations.
+ Stay updated on industry trends and innovations.
**Education and Experience Requirements**
+ **Education** : Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
+ **Experience** :
+ Minimum of 5 years in inventory management and planning.
+ Experience managing both unionized and non-unionized workforces.
**Preferred Skills:**
+ Experience working in the utility/energy industry.
+ ERP/MRP Maximo and/or Oracle
+ Exposure to ERP/MRP implementation/rollout
+ Change management
+ SKU complexity with multisite distribution points
**Storm Roles**
