JOB DESCRIPTION

TMZ is seeking a Manager of IT Application Projects. The ideal candidate has experience working in a fast-paced Media environment defining metadata schema and standards, performing metadata input, metadata QC for various applications and IT project management. This position reports to the Executive Director of IT.

Responsibilities:

Project management of ongoing large- and small-scale metadata projects within the IT departmentRequires use of project management software and Microsoft Office to track progressRequires overseeing and coordination with members of department, interns, and with PAsWork directly with IT application support and internal departments on metadata management within applicationsDevelop, document and maintain metadata standards across required systems.Metadata training of all employees whose job entails metadata entry.Oversee all stages of IT Development project life cycles; monitoring progress, timelines, and reporting, utilizing project management tools such as Jira, Asana, or Airtable.Conduct change management and communication, acting as liaison between IT and TMZ end-users to deliver updates on development projects and application updates.Conduct user research and usability testing to understand user needs and pain points and translate them into application and product requirements.Provide guidance on UX / UI design, utilizing Axure RP, Figma, and other digital tools to create wireframes and prototypes to visualize how new applications will function and look.

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience, preferably in a media or entertainment environmentA Master of Library and Information Science preferredSkilled in Metadata input, Taxonomy and bulk metadata manipulation and transformations between systems, especially as it relates to media content and distributionDemonstrated experience with metadata standards such as Dublin Core, MODs, DACS, AACR2 or PBCOREExperience with MAM systems used in Media/Entertainment, but special consideration will be given to applicants who have Dalet experienceExperienced in the creation and documentation of metadata standards and practices Familiar with XML, JSON and SQLExperienced in IT development project lifecycles with a focus on capturing business requirements, stakeholder interviews, project documentation and task/status follow ups, testing oversight, and final delivery requirements.Skilled with application UX designMust be detail-oriented, with strong ability to follow through on plans and processesMust possess strong documentation skillsMust be a self-starter and effective at working independentlyRequires the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.Requires effective communication skills and ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $75,000.00-105,000.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
