City of Hope is seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager, Laboratory Research Protections to oversee the administrative and operational functions of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), Stem Cell Research Oversight (SCRO) Committee, Post-Approval Monitoring (PAM) Program, and Animal User Training Program. This role ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, supports committee operations, and manages a team responsible for protocol reviews and compliance oversight. The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal teams and external regulatory agencies to maintain an efficient, compliant research framework.
As a successful candidate, you will:
· Manages IACUC & SCRO Offices: Ensures compliance with regulatory and institutional requirements, improving efficiency and training programs.
· Leads Office Operations: Oversees daily functions, prioritizes urgent requests, and collaborates with institutional leaders to maintain compliance.
· Enhances Performance & Compliance: Implements process improvements, manages audits, maintains accurate records, and ensures adherence to policies.
· Conducts In-Depth Reviews: Pre-reviews protocols, collaborates with investigators, and ensures required approvals before study initiation.
· Oversees Training & Monitoring: Manages IACUC post-approval monitoring and animal user training programs, addressing compliance issues.
· Facilitates Committee Management: Organizes meetings, tracks follow-ups, recruits members, and ensures proper documentation of decisions.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
· Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in a scientific field preferred. CPIA certification preferred upon hire or required within three years.
· Experience: Minimum 7 years in research regulatory administration/management (preferably in an NCI-designated Cancer Center or academic medical center), including at least one year in a leadership role.
· Preferred Skills: 3+ years of supervisory experience; expertise in reviewing IACUC and/or SCRO protocols.
This position is remote, with quarterly travel required to City of Hope's main campus.
