Manager, Learning Development
**DESCRIPTION** The Manager, Learning Development is part of the Talent Development & Effectiveness leadership team and has responsibility for the design, development, delivery, maintenance, and quality of training and learning programs for Acosta. This role builds and sustains effective long-term relationships with business partners across the organization to identify behavior and performance gaps, and to recommend and implement appropriate learning and development solutions. This role manages and provides direction to the Learning Design & Development team and manages the learning development process. In addition, this role evaluates the effectiveness of learning content and programs and informs the business partners of gaps in information and direction for future improvements. Applying a global lens and digital mindset to training strategies is essential to this role. Up to 25% travel may be required within the United States and Canada. **RESPONSIBILITIES** + Utilize effective communication methods and skills to build effective long-term relationships with business partners across the organization to identify behavior and performance gaps and to recommend and implement appropriate learning and development solutions. + Design, develop, deliver, and maintain quality learning content and learning programs as part of a strategic framework that aligns with the performance needs of the business and increase the capabilities and performance of individuals and work teams. + Provide leadership and guidance to the Learning Design & Development team. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; mentoring and coaching associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. + Lead and manage all aspects of the learning development process including analysis of business needs, solution recommendation, design, development, implementation and evaluation/follow-up. + Manage projects for on-time, on-budget delivery with high quality deliverables. + Ensure success of each project through effective collaboration with business partners, subject matter experts, project teams, and the TD&E team. + Plan, research, write, and produce learning materials including courses, presentations, tutorials, exercises, demonstrations, simulations, user guides, and quick references as needed. Amend and revise materials as necessary, to adapt to changes that occur and to keep learning fresh. + Demonstrate instructional design skills utilizing adult learning principles and creative content design techniques. + Incorporate current and emerging learning technology tools and platforms that allow for efficient implementation. + Establish metrics and evaluate the effectiveness of training and development programs. + Effectively facilitate and participate in live and virtual meetings and learning sessions. + Continually develop knowledge, understanding and application of principles, theories, and concepts in the learning field, and stay current with new learning trends and technologies. + Provide excellent support and customer service to all associates and business partners by fully understanding situations, questions, and issues, and by resolving the cause, not just the symptoms, of these issues ensuring customer satisfaction. + Monitor training costs to ensure budget is not exceeded and prepare budget and expense reports as requested to justify expenditures. + Manage vendor and contractor relationships and work processes as required. + Assist the TD&E team by helping with other tasks as needed and assigned. **QUALIFICATIONS** + Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training, learning and/or educational experience. + 5-7 years related work experience in training and development. + 2 years supervisory experience. + Effective communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. + Effective managerial and supervisory skills. + Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills; attention to detail. + Strong computer skills and ability to work with MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook. + Strong knowledge of technical software concepts and an ability to quickly understand product functionality in the context of its business application. + Strong knowledge of rapid eLearning development tools such as Articulate, Storyline, and Captivate. + Demonstrated experience with writing curriculum and developing training materials. + Ability to write and edit content, instructional text, audio scripts, and video scripts and to design interactive and engaging learning content. + Experience using and performing administrator functions in a learning management system. + Ability to research industry trends and innovations related to learning development. + Ability and willingness to perform as a team member on multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment with high expectations for quality. + Strong organizational skills to effectively assist in the management of multiple projects from inception to completion, adhering to deadlines, within budget and with high quality. + Self-starter; highly motivated; able to work with minimal supervision. + Ability to analyze information and use deductive reasoning. + Proven ability to provide excellent customer service, and work with multiple levels of the organization from senior management to first level associates. + Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes without hierarchical authority. + Strong track record of effectively driving learning and development initiatives to support key business priorities. + Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and practice, including development, implementation, and measurement of culture change. + Flexibility to travel and work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed. \#DiscoverYourPath **ABOUT US** Acosta and Mosaic are the sales and marketing powerhouses behind the most recognized and proven brands with top retailers in the United States and Canada.
