Job Profile Summary:
The Manager of Learning Resource Tools Operations plays a key leadership role, ensuring seamless integration of educational technologies, optimizing tool functionality, and providing strategic direction to enhance the learning experience. Driving the adoption and implementation of innovative instructional technology across the university. This leader models exemplary instructional technology integration and best practices, supporting seamless Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) and vendor integrations across various colleges and departments. The role focuses on improving learning design, providing program development training, and enhancing student learning outcomes.
This role requires close collaboration with IT, instructional design, and external vendors to ensure that learning tools meet institutional needs, align with academic goals, and follow best practices in higher education technology integration.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Effectively lead and manage a Learning Resource Tool Specialists team, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and support to ensure team effectiveness.Oversee the integration of learning resource vendors into university technology systems, resolving technical issues and ensuring seamless implementation that aligns with academic objectives.Work closely with IT, instructional design, and product development teams to ensure proper alignment between learning tools and university goals while collaborating with external vendors for smooth integration.Develop and manage project plans for tool implementation, setting clear goals, meeting deadlines, and communicating progress with stakeholders.Continuously assess and improve integration processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across multiple projects.Identify and mitigate risks associated with vendor integrations to ensure a smooth, uninterrupted learning experience.Ensure all integrations meet university standards for security, performance, and instructional quality, maintaining high levels of quality assurance.Perform additional duties as necessary to support the team and the university’s broader objectives.Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
Experience working with vendors or software platforms, particularly in implementing and managing learning resource tools in an educational environment.Expertise in online learning environments, with a focus on tool configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization to support learning outcomes.Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage vendor relationships and foster a productive, supportive team environment.Understanding of mobile and social learning platforms, with the ability to guide the team in integrating these tools effectively.Proficiency in managing complex projects, setting clear goals, and ensuring timely completion.Knowledge of adult learning theories and principles, including instructional design methodologies tailored to adult learners in diverse academic settings.Ability to collaborate effectively with academic departments, faculty members, subject matter experts, and instructional designers to develop and deliver high-quality educational programs.Strong project management skills, including the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project timelines, and ensure alignment with departmental goals and objectives.Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to inform program development decisions, assess program efficacy, and identify areas for continuous improvement.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to articulate program objectives, outcomes, and value propositions to internal and external stakeholders.Willingness to explore innovative approaches to program development, incorporate emerging technologies, and adapt to evolving trends and student needs in higher educationJob Qualifications:
