Job Description

Position Overview

Invenergy is seeking a Manager of Logistics with more than 5 years of experience who will act as team lead, responsible for the management of Invenergy’s owner furnished equipment inventory. This individual will serve as the internal subject matter expert for all aspects of importing, transporting, and storage of critical equipment to operating project sites. This individual will support the procurement efforts of Invenergy’s construction and operations project portfolios by ensuring that equipment is deployed to site on time, safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. This individual will play a pivotal role in developing and executing logistics strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with global trade policies. This position will be based in Chicago, Illinois and will report through the Invenergy’s Global Sourcing department.

Duties and Responsibilities

Logistics Team Lead – Lead the logistics team, managing people, processes, and scopes of work in support of Invenergy’s owner-supplied inventory.

Strategic Development – Develop and implement a comprehensive logistics strategy that cost-effectively optimizes the transportation, storage, and delivery of Invenergy’s inventory equipment. Build robust reporting capabilities to ensure real-time visibility for key stakeholders and senior leadership. 

Supplier Relationship and Contract Management – Establish and own relationships with third party logistics partners, including intermodal 3PLs, freight forwarders, trucking companies, ports, and terminals. Negotiate high-value project and portfolio-level transportation and warehousing agreements, ensuring cost-effective, high quality, and scalable logistics and storage solutions.   

Import Management and Trade Compliance – Develop and maintain relationships with OEM counterparts, brokerage partners, internal and external trade counsel, and government agencies to ensure that Invenergy’s supply chain is in compliance with global trade policy. Establish data analysis and recordkeeping best practices in support of import management and trade compliance.

Equipment Storage and Delivery to Site – Build and maintain network of equipment storage locations, facilitate receipt of equipment at storage facilities, and execute transportation of equipment to operational and under-construction power generation project locations. Track and coordinate vessel arrivals, port logistics, and documentation for import shipments. Optimize delivery schedules in accordance with vendor, contractor, and project requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, or a related field

5+ years' professional experience; prior experience in logistics, domestic freight, and imports

Experience managing a team of direct reports

Proven organizational, time management, critical thinking, communication, and reporting skills

Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with power generation or renewable energy industries

Experience coordinating logistics for active construction sites with complex delivery schedules

Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools, including Excel and Power BI

Familiarity with equipment supply agreements and construction contract language

Ability to travel up to 25% domestically to project sites, supplier locations, logistics hubs, and warehousing locations

Base Pay

$120,000 – $150,000 USD Annual

Bonus: 25% - 40%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
