By delivering lab-quality results in minutes, our i-STAT System fosters a collaborative, patient-centered environment while driving improved operational performance. **The Opportunity** Our location in Princeton, NJ has an opening for a Manager, Market Access to join our US Commercial team. The Manager, Market Access will drive efforts to enable patient access to the Abbott Point of Care (APOC) portfolio by setting strategic direction, developing value messaging for APOC products, and providing health economic and reimbursement support. This individual will be responsible for driving market access for both on-market products as well as new product launches in the US market. **What you'll work on** + Leads creation of health economic strategies (including, value messaging, coverage, coding, payment / reimbursement, etc.) based on robust understanding of US customers’ clinical and financial needs and decision-making processes + Develops and implements market access and reimbursement tactical plans for new and existing products based on strategic plans + Establishes and manages key relationships with healthcare providers, payers, benefit managers, economic thought leaders, public agencies, and patient advocacy groups, understanding their needs and effectively shaping and communicating the Abbott Point of Care value proposition. + Provides payor, clinician, and patient perspective on development of internal & external tools and resources related to coverage, reimbursement, and market access + Collaborates with Global Medical & Scientific Affairs, R&D/Clinical Affairs, Global Strategic Marketing, and Global Market Access on value propositions and evidence generation to support market access + Provides strategic direction on economic buyer and commercial payer-related issues for reimbursement, coverage, and contracting of APOC products + Monitors relevant health policy developments (i.e., evidence-based medicine, HTA’s, customer or competitive activities) and provide Abbott management meaningful guidance on opportunities and risks for product adoption and actions to mitigate the risk + Serve as primary point of contact for discussions around coverage and payment with public and private payers, medical, and actuarial directors + Secure reimbursement for products through timely preparation of submissions, effective understanding of local processes and networking with key stakeholders + Optimize commercial pricing strategies based on payer value proposition **Required Qualifications** + B.A. or B.S. Degree + 8+ years of experience in healthcare industry is required, with medical device or in vitro diagnostics (IVD) experience preferred. + 4+ years of experience in Market Access and Reimbursement within life sciences industry; ideal candidate will have experiences in more than one National Healthcare delivery system + Good working knowledge of US market access and reimbursement pathways, health technology assessment, health economic and outcomes research (HEOR) as well as peer-review publication strategies are highly desirable. + Understanding of hospital setting (especially ED, CVOR and CCU departments) and outside of hospital setting (such as urgent care, free-standing ED, ambulatory center, and oncology). + Demonstrated track record developing market access strategies for existing products and new product launches + Demonstrated analytical skills related to market research, pricing, financial modeling, and identification of key business insights. + Initiative and self-motivation; strong work ethic; leadership and team orientation; strong proactive interpersonal skills with proven ability to work with others; ability to work in a matrixed environment, strong cross-functional management by influence. **Preferred Qualifications** + MBA, Masters in public health, and/or health policy preferred. + Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail. + Excellent oral and written communication skills (including presentation and listening skills with senior level staff). + Positive attitude, confidence, integrity, and professionalism. **Learn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives:** www.abbottbenefits.com (http://www.abbottbenefits.com/pages/candidate.aspx) Follow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life. The base pay for this position is $125,300.00 – $250,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
