The Manager- Material Management directs and oversees inventory purchases and metrics supporting strategic initiatives. This position manages expensed material for M/O inventory, factory item coverage, and expensed purchases, all while achieving the maximum level of parts availability for manufacturing and sales at minimum inventory levels, unit cost, and expense.
Responsibilities:
+ Manage buyers with their day to day purchases and overall inventory management.
+ Capitalize and streamline procurement activities utilizing current buying tools. Implement and utilize the standardized buying strategies (i.e. kanban loops, min/max calculations and safety stock).
+ Maintain minimum levels of inventory while maximizing customer service levels for assigned commodities based on historical data.
+ Help architect Zurn Elkay's regional inventory signals and how those are streamlined back to the vendor base.
+ Establish and maintain procedures for internal control of purchases, promote standardization, as practical and coordinate product specifications with internal resources.
+ Coordinate with other BU’s to incorporate tactical purchasing strategies supporting standardization of work and results.
+ Facilitate the completion of monthly purchase receipts and PPV forecasts and partners with Plant Controller on execution of Inventory targets.
+ Responsible for multiple business unit Overhead/Operating expense Budget/Forecasts.
+ Lead and direct the work of buyers, production planners, and factory scheduling associates.
+ Manage daily manufacturing schedules.
+ Work directly with operations leadership to manage overall plant capacity. Manage outsourcing signals and decisions as needed.
+ Work with supervisors to make OT decisions and manning movement to support uneven customer demand.
+ Work with Strategic Sourcing Leaders to communicate supplier development needs (on-time delivery, lead time reductions, quality improvements, vendor scorecards, cost-out initiatives, etc.).
+ Adhere to all legal and ethical practices associated with global sourcing
Experience:
+ Bachelor’s Degree Business, Supply Chain or related field
+ 7+ years of experience in purchasing, material planning, and materials management
+ Project management experience
+ Supply Chain Management or Logistics experience preferred
The compensation range(s) identified below are a good faith estimate of the salary expected to be paid as performed from these locations. Actual salaries may vary based on compensable factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, education and training, and other relevant business and organizational factors. Most candidates will start in the lower half of the range.
The salary range for this position is $99,328-$136,500.
