  Manager, Material Operations


  Position Summary Under direct leadership the Manager, Material Operations manages the shipping and receiving, material handling, inventory management, and production scheduling teams at our Materials Velocity Center (MVC) to ensure the cost-effective and efficient ordering, processing, and kitting of materials in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.” This role works closely with the Director of Material Operations to create and maintain successful partnerships and processes to successfully manage materials and ensure inventory for a robust production schedule.
  Essential Functions Manages operations and teams for inventory management, material handling, and shipping and receiving at the Singer Materials Velocity Center Accountable for inventory controls, perpetual inventory reporting, on-time delivery of material from inventory to production, and packaging solutions to prevent damage to parts Implements systems and processes to manage bar-coding and bin locations for inventory management Responsible for inventory planning and kitting process to deliver materials line-side to production cells Ensures inventory accuracy and cycle counts are meeting Operations and Finance requirements Ensures Shipping & Receiving processes are in place and support Procure-to-Pay process Implements processes for and manages the mailroom for Singer HQ Responsible for Receiving Inspections and ensuring parts meet specifications Creates and manages a Shipping Logistics team to manage shipment of vehicles domestically and abroad Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Education/Experience Seven (7) plus years of related experience within Material Operations/Supply Chain At least three (3) years of people leadership experience I the field Proven ability to manage inventory teams Proven ability to implement systems and tools for material operations Preferred Education/Experience and/or Certifications Bachelor’s degree in relevant industry Proficient in SQL and Fishbowl Experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing Prior experience in rapid growth environment
Skills/Abilities and Attributes Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems, math, and statistics Passion for people leadership and development, with a proven track record and ability to motivate teams Strong negotiation skills essential for dealing with logistics vendors Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently Team oriented, strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to multiple deadlines Excellent time management with an ability to balance multiple projects and timelines and meet deadlines Effective written and verbal communications skills; ability to express ideas clearly and actively listen to others Positive attitude and strong work ethic    Physical Demands/Work Environment Must have ability to speak clearly and distinctly and hear and be heard and understood in person and by telephone Must be able to work an early schedule and overtime as needed Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the production environment Must be able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move with up to 25 lbs. of force Must be able to use fingers, hands, and arms at a computer keyboard for extended periods Must maintain a valid California Driver’s License with a good driving record and appropriate insurance limits and/or be insurable under the Singer’s company vehicle insurance policy
Compensation
The starting salary range for this position is between $111,600 - $139,500 per year, plus an annual bonus plan. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
