Manager, Material Planning

We are excited to announce our opening for a Manager, Material Planning on our Global Supply Chain team in the Reston, VA or Rockville, MD area! This opportunity calls for experience helping our organization’s mission.  The role of the Manager, Material Planning will include, but not limited to, managing a team who coordinates with Strategic Sourcing, Operations, Engineering, Suppliers, Production, and Logistics.  Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.  In addition, the role includes developing material strategies, identifying and mitigating program risks and opportunities as they pertain to material requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

Serve as a leader in the Global Supply Chain with oversight of Material Planning (~10 direct reports)Job responsibilities associated with supplier management, business process re-engineering, and Procurement Tool deployments within National Security Sector area of responsibilityLeader must have experience in Project planning, scheduling, coordination, with demonstrated history of developing technical solutions that meet program requirementsCandidate must have strong understanding of developing BOMs, ROMs, and resource planningExperience with supplier coordination including hardware and software selection, maintenance issues, and problem resolutionLeads teams of supplier and internal staff in collaboratively solving problems in cost/value engineering, affordability, and technical solutionsOversee tracking and reporting of all program material activitiesAchieve Program material budget objectivesLead Supply Chain and Program process improvement projectsDevelop demand forecasts and ensure lead times align with production schedulesResolve supply chain, procurement, cost target challenges for Leidos programsThis individual should be a self-starter and someone that is flexible and is able to work independently at a higher level

Basic Qualifications

BA degree and 6+years in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Operations, or technical related field.  MBA or MS and 4+ years of related experience. Additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be considered.Strong stakeholder management skills – relationship-building, conflict resolution and negotiation, strategic thinkingIT background, supplier management, material pricing, project planning, and proposal strategy experienceStrong knowledge of Supply Chain and related systems along with material procurementDemonstrated experience interfacing across multiple organization and program levelsProven ability to be a self-starter and quick learner, capable of supporting efforts to achieve goalsExcellent written and oral communications skillsAbility to work under tight time constraintsWorking knowledge of MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)Knowledge of customer flow through requirements such as FAR, ITAR, OFFSET, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and public lawAbility to obtain a Top Secret security clearance and higherUS Citizenship is required for this position

Preferred Qualifications

Supply Chain Management and/or engineering experiencePMP and/or supply chain and procurement certificationsStrategic thinking ability with tactical application of strategies for program executionSubcontracts/Procurement/Engineering/Supply Chain ExperienceStrong understanding of US Government acquisition laws and regulations (FAR)PowerBI or equivalent experience preferredLogistics, Warehouse, and TransportationOriginal Posting Date:2024-12-17

Pay Range:Pay Range $80,600.00 - $145,700.00
