Job Summary
The Manager, Media contributes to delivering an impactful omni-channel media strategy to support short-term promotional sales and long-term brand growth for Papa Johns. The ideal candidate will bring thought leadership to the planning process while also managing accuracy and shared communication among partners within the marketing organization and field. The candidate will track and report on national media spending while actively communicating with the field marketing team on national media plans. The candidate will help manage the relationships with external media agencies. This role manages the execution of Papa Johns advertising media strategy, ensuring the company is receiving the greatest return on its advertising investments.
Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned)
Support the Sr. Director, Media & Measurement and partner with the national media agency in developing communications plans (inclusive of owned, shared, and earned media) and omni-channel paid media strategies
Partner with Director, Marketing/AdTech & Ops and Manager, Media & Data Analytics on consumer segmentation and media attribution
Track national media spending: identify and resolve budget discrepancies with the national media agency; manage and process media invoices; regularly communicate budget status and issues
Track media activity by preparing regular summary reports; coordinate communications with media vendors; coordinate and participate in meetings; review proposals and provide POVs
Coordinate communication of the national media plan to the field (Regional Marketing Directors and Local Agencies), including marketing assets, creative rotation, national media calendar, national media plan, and monthly Linear TV buy summaries
Manage and communicate competitive reporting from national agency
Coordinate and monitor media auditing of national Linear TV buys and digital media governance in partnership with a third party media auditing company; develop and execute actions to resolve issues identified through audits
Send and manage assets for sponsorships and added value, coordinate approval with Papa Johns Brand and Legal teams
Education, Experience & Certifications
5+ years of experience in media planning and buying or related role required
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
Functional Skills
Programmatic advertising planning and buying experience
Audience segmentation experience
Microsoft Office proficiency
Media flowchart management software experience
Analytical Skills: effectively uses data to generate insights for operations excellence
