Job Description

With the NBA (back) on NBC and Peacock, the Media Strategy & Planning team is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for the NBA and Entertainment. The Manager, Media Strategy & Planning is primarily responsible for supporting the Director, Media Strategy & Planning in the planning and buying process of all paid media plans in support of the NBA with opportunities to expand into NBC Sports and NBC Entertainment/Peacock.

Responsibilities:

Support the Director, Media Strategy & Planning in the development of media strategies and plans for all supported shows across off-air prioritiesAssist in the development of analysis necessary to support media recommendations and decisionsHelp manage analytics and campaign reporting both in-house and with the agency to contribute to building fact-based media strategies and derive optimizations in campaign and for future planningManage the delivery of all creative materials between NBCU production groups, external agency buyers/traffic departments. and media vendorsAssist in managing all financial reporting documents associated with the media budgetCoordinate with counterparts across the organization on marketing plans and executionSeek and understand emerging trends and first to market opportunitiesMeet with representatives across the media industry to foster mutually beneficial relationships with all media partners, particularly those within the NBCU familyAssist the larger media team with any ad-hoc projects/requests

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

4+ years’ experience in media planning and buying with a strong focus on digital planning and buyingMedia agency experience required

Desired Characteristics:

Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts, Marketing, Communications/Advertising, or Media StudiesSports and/or Entertainment experience preferredStrong knowledge and understanding of the television industry, particularly the Broadcast and Streaming TV business and Sports landscapeAn understanding of TV and Digital viewing measurementExtensive knowledge of marketing, advertising, and media planning principlesA love of the Sports and Entertainment industryAnalytical skills; comfortable distilling data into actionable insights and optimization opportunitiesStrong quantitative skills with the ability to stay organized and manage time wiselyAbility to juggle multiple tasks in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environmentAdvanced communication skills; able to present ideas clearly and concisely, both written and verbalAbility to work across various teams and departments within an organizationMust have team spirit and be a self-motivator with a proactive nature and collaborative attitudePrevious management experience, including the ability to train staffComputer proficiency particularly with Word, Excel, and PowerPointFlexibility to adjust schedule based on workload

Additional Requirements:

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $90,000 - $100,000 (bonus eligible)
