Manager, Merchandise Planning & Analytics – Regional Merchandising
Job Summary

Responsible for leading analysis, recommendations and forecasting for Regional Merchandising.  Assists with development of assortment based on financial analysis and space availability that directly contribute to improved program performance including Sales, Gross Profit, Inventory Management and location preference.  Provide one-on-one support, guidance, and training to RMM’s, RPC’s, ACM’s and others on tools and processes.  Acts as a technical/methodological advisor of metrics and reporting completed by others to ensure validity and reliability of departmental research and analysis.  Directly oversees all reporting and analytics and provides cross-functional direction to other members of the Regional Merchandising team through a combination of recurring scheduled reporting and ad-hoc independent projects.

Job ResponsibilitiesDevelops and mentors team through orientation, training, establishing objectives, communicating policies, constructive discipline; builds employee morale, and motivation. Oversees workload and workflow management of the Sr./Jr. Merchandise Planning Analysts.Contributes to the strategy development process of high profile and/or complex businesses, while helping Category Managers drive the category planning process resulting in improved sales and profit performance.Leverages analytics in order to assist Category Managers, Merchandise Planning Managers, format development, and store ops in determining product strategy.Continuously evaluates best practices, methodology, and tools and seeks to improve deliverables in order to maintain alignment with the business needs.Develops/refines presentation structure and templates in order to more effectively communicate results and trends.Performs research and analyses of Merchandising initiatives to demonstrate the value of product and merchandising strategies. Team with Merchandising, Finance, and Operations to determine ROI on new initiatives. Support Joint Business Planning through analysis and recommendations in order to assist Category Managers in reaching their fiscal goals and budgets.Coaches business unit leadership through complex analytical results by synthesizing into actionable recommendations.
