ABOUT THE JOB

The ACLU seeks applicants for the full-time position of Manager, Nationwide Development Resources in the Development Department of the ACLU’s National office in New York, NY. This is a hybrid role that has in-office requirements of two (2) days per week or eight (8) days per month.

Within the Development Department, the 9-person Nationwide Development Resources (NDR) team’s role is to empower ACLU nationwide fundraising staff to leverage internal and external development expertise, resources, systems and tools to work more effectively and efficiently.

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

Reporting to the Deputy Director, Nationwide Development Resources, the Manager, Nationwide Development Resources will work with the NDR team to drive an integrated, strategic and highly collaborative nationwide major gifts fundraising program across all 50 affiliates and the national office of the ACLU.

The Manager will be responsible for leveraging nationwide expertise and technical assistance to support and strengthen nationwide fundraising. This role will focus on donor portfolio management, donor data systems, and development knowledge and learning.

YOUR DAY TO DAY Contribute to a team that supports ACLU nationwide fundraisers with an array of Development resources including learning communities, training resources, donor prospecting and research, donor strategy coordination, portfolio performance data tracking and analysis, and nationwide Development communications Manage process to provide data and analysis to inform affiliate and National fundraisers on donor strategy, prospect management, and moves management, and promote transparency and shared accountability Manage reporting on nationwide portfolio benchmarks for donor engagement and progress to goals Collaborate with nationwide Development colleagues on donor strategy Provide operational support to select affiliates staffing transitions Project manage the process of onboarding, training and mentoring select affiliate development staff Assist affiliates with development operations and data management including training and use of business intelligence tools, and aligning affiliate development systems and data practices with the ACLU nationwide fundraising model Participate in planning nationwide trainings and convenings Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned FUTURE ACLU'ERS WILL  Be committed to advancing the mission of the ACLU Center and embed the principles of equity, inclusion and belonging in their work by demonstrating commitment to diversity with an approach that respects and values multiple perspectives Be committed to work collaboratively and respectfully toward resolving obstacles and conflicts WHAT YOU'LL BRING Demonstrated ability and experience with major gifts fundraising and capacity building Demonstrated ability and experience with data management and business intelligence tools Experience with project management, including ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects and manage relationships Strong interpersonal, verbal communication and presentation skills, including ability to use listening, diplomacy, confidentiality and tact to build internal and external relationships Excellent written communication skills Highly organized with attention to detail PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of community centric fundraising  Experience with direct solicitation and donor strategy  COMPENSATION The ACLU values equity, transparency, and clarity in pay. Consistent with the ACLU's compensation philosophy there is a set salary for this role. The ACLU also has a locality adjustment policy that applies to salaries.  The annual salary for this position is $101,604 (Level - H), reflecting the salary of a position based in New York, NY. This position is subject to a hybrid schedule of 2 days/week or 8 days/month in-office.    WHY THE ACLU
