Manager, Neurodiagnostic & Glasser Brain Tumor Center - Full Time, 8AM-4PM, Overlook Medical Center

Principal Responsibilities:

Neurodiagnostics:
Leads all functions of the operations of the EEG Labs at Morristown and Chilton Medical centers, and the EEG and MEG lab at Overlook Medical Center. Collaborates with EEG department assistant managers to oversee day-to-day operations. Leads process and quality improvement initiatives for the departments and oversees the execution of continuous education and compliance. Oversees EEG department policies, procedures, and guidelines. Partners with Neuroscience Service Line leaders on strategic initiatives for program growth, development, and improvements. Partners with Newton and Hackettstown Medical Center leaders to ensure EEG quality and technical training. 

Collaboration with the OMC Assistant Manager to oversee the MEG (Magnetoencephalography) team at OMC.  Leads and maintains all surgical planning sessions with neurosurgeons, Epileptologists, technologists with monthly patient management conferences and surgical patient tracking and coordination. Partners with AMG Epilepsy Practice Manager and provider staff to coordinate hospital and program quality, communication, statistics and other needs as arise, including but not on-call schedules, EEG reading schedules and volume for monthly statistics and reconciliation. Partners with Pediatric Service Line to ensure all Pediatric Neurology guidelines are implemented and guides all pediatric EEG studies at MMC, OMC, and CMC. Manages Intraoperative Monitoring (IOM) for Neurodiagnostics.  Responsible for maintaining contracts and relationships with all IOM vendors.   Responsible for the preparation of annual operational and capital budget planning.  Maintains department data and productivity statistics. Oversees appropriate use of clinical resources (staff as well as supplies).  Oversees the daily data reduction and archiving process. Supports and participates in new site accreditation and certification processes. Collaborates with assistant managers to create and implement a training plan for technologists in all aspects of neurodiagnostic including EEG, video EEG/LTM, evoked potentials, MEG, and intraoperative monitoring (brain and spine).  Develops and implements clinical practice guidelines and protocols following evidence-based practices. Oversight of the evaluation and monitoring of staff competencies, certifications, and other job requirements. and monitors progress of staff development through competencies and other mechanisms.  Ensures team is appropriately managing back-end responsibilities including confirmation of needed pre-authorization or single case agreements for EEG/MEG studies. Responsible for ensuring EEG/Epilepsy programs are continuously meeting NAEC accreditation requirements. Responsible for the application process through NAEC with collaboration from the Neuroscience and Pediatric Service lines, and program medical directors. Responsible for maintaining all academic affiliations and/or contracts to support and engage local neurodiagnostics programs. Works directly with Neuroscience Service Line to build, strategically plan, and promote services working with Marketing & business development through the development of marketing material and outreach initiatives. Participates on hospital committees and initiatives and represents neuroscience leadership as required.  Oversight of charge reconciliation for all EEG/MEG procedures; including denial review and reconciliation Supports department assistant managers on continuously building customer satisfaction for patients, physicians, colleagues, the community, and other departments served. Engages staff in continually raising the bar in service excellence

Brain Tumor Center:

The Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the practice with an emphasis on managing staff, responding to physician, patient and staff concerns, and budget management.  Monthly departmental meetings to be held. Assist with budgetary adherence, preparation and monitoring.  Day to day fiscal accountability; working with team to meet time of service collections, reconciliations & report outs. Manages staff and has responsibility for the hiring, firing, performance management and results for the practice/department, working with managing director.  Orients/trains, assigns, schedules, directs and supervises departmental staff. Works to develop performance improvement initiatives, develop a culture of quality and safety; by making recommendations for changes in processes and contributing to ideas and suggestions. Monitors schedule templates for access optimizing patient locations to increase growth in expanded regions. This position focuses on customer service. Works effectively with patients and team members to resolve customer service issues, Develops and implements common priorities and goals related to providing optimal customer service; maximizing operational efficiency. assuring financial viability and rendering high quality health care services.  The Practice Manager must demonstrate, through leadership example, visible organizational support and a positive attitude to create a positive work environment.    Ability to prioritize and multi-task with a minimum of supervision. Seeks guidance as appropriate. Makes decisions that are timely and consistent with department, objectives, policies and procedures. Communicates decisions to appropriate leadership. Exercises independent judgement on basic or moderately complex issues related to job. Performs other related duties as assigned.
