Manager, Office of Medical Education

The Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (VTCSOM) seeks outstanding candidates for the position of Manager, Office of Medical Education. The position’s primary responsibility will be managing projects and activities connected to the implementation and support of the strategic innovation of the curriculum and preparing for the growth of the medical school. Reporting to the Senior Director for Educational Affairs and working with guidance from the Educational Leadership team (including Phase Directors, Assistant Dean for Assessment/Evaluation, and Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education), the Manager will work closely with faculty and administrative support staff across the medical education program to ensure the successful implementation of projects, adherence to timelines and budgets, and achievement of educational and administrative deliverables.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a background in higher education, and a commitment to advancing the functioning of collaborative teams. Strong candidates will have outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with diverse audiences (faculty, students, administrators, staff, and clinicians); be independent, self-motivated team players that value the contributions of others toward shared goals; be dedicated to encouraging, supporting, and crediting teammates and colleagues; be committed to honest, respectful, direct communications with all coworkers from peers to leadership to trainees; be flexible and exhibit excellent organization and time management skills while maintaining quality and attention to detail; and have the ability to multitask in a diversity of work areas and projects within a fast-paced environment with a degree of ambiguity.
