AES Clean Energy (AES CE) requires a Manager Operational Technology Operations for our growing organization. This position ensures the availability of the network and infrastructure required to run critical SCADA and other control systems for the energy production of our renewable’s energy projects (solar, wind, battery storage, green hydrogen). These projects are located all over the US and in this role, you will lead a team of individuals that manage the ongoing operation of the infrastructure with the expectation that it is running smoothly, with the proper resilience in place, and are fully complaint and secure. You will also be empowered to drive continuous improvements while building your deep IT mastery and applying that mastery to accelerate your site’s digital journey.

This position works with other teams within the development, engineering, SCADA, construction and operations teams.

The Manager Operations Technology Operations will lead a team of senior analysts and analysts with experience in design and construction of SCADA control systems, application development, network stack.

Key Responsibilities 

Operations Management: Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in troubleshooting issues and assigning incident of requests to Analyst.  Drive operational excellence to ensure any system or infrastructure issues are timely communicated and fixed.Stakeholder Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for Operations leadership, ensuring their needs are met and fostering strong, long-term relationships.  Ensuring that the input from the Operations team is considering when prioritizing issues and requests.Operations Triage: Collaborate with the Infrastructure, Network, Cybersecurity and NERC Compliance teams in prioritizing and managing tasks, ensuring timely resolution of issues.  Own and maintain the incident and requests backlog, ensuring it is prioritized, and assigned to the OT analysts.IT Controls & NERC compliance: Ensure strong digital stewardship of IT Controls and NERC compliance tasks.  Provide evidence of control execution and support internal and external audits.Strategic Planning: Develop and implement operational strategies to improve performance and achieve organizational goals.Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of Senior Analysts, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in keeping these sites up and running.Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with IT, Cyber Policies and NERC compliance requirements.

Skills and Qualifications: 

College Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field 7-10 years’ demonstrated experience in operations technology management or implementation of control systemsProven experience in IT operations or a related role; including, Incident management, Request management, Change management, Problem management.Technical acumen in renewables projects is a plus. IT General Computing controls or NERC compliance requirements is a plus.Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance, prioritize, and manage multiple projects of differing priorities and deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to comfortably communicate with all levels of the organization. Create comprehensive and accurate documentation.Ability to work with autonomy in a fast-paced environment and a strong sense of accountability.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $135,000 and $169,150/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
