The University of Miami/UHealth Life Alliance Organ Recovery Agency is currently seeking a full time Manager, OPO Organ Recovery and Allocation to work in Miami, FL. The Manager, Organ Recovery & Allocation plans, organizes, and directs the activities of professional and non-professional employees in the assigned department, in accordance with all standard operating procedures. This employee also ensures that all applicable regulations and AATB standards are followed.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Develops an annual budget and monitors expenditures effectively.

Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, counsels, and develops employees.

Oversees the staffing of all assigned activities.

Develops, implements, and manages all standard operating procedures and other procedures to ensure the uniformity and quality of operations.

Maintains regulated operations in keeping with all applicable standards of accreditation.

Establishes goals for self and staff and serves as a motivator for goal achievement consistent with the department’s mission and strategic plan.

Sets performance standards for the procurement activities.

Maintains interdepartmental cooperation and respect by serving as liaison to other departments. Serves as liaison to hospitals, medical examiners, and the eye bank.

Oversees personnel management functions of surgical recovery and organ allocation staff.

Facilitates training courses and technical meetings to ensure technical staff competency in all areas. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.

Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                                    

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Certification and Licensing:

Certified Transplant Preservationist (CTP) designation

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

Knowledge of business and management principles

Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.

Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.

Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.

Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
