Manager, Packaging Circularity (Twin Falls, ID)

Summary

Chobani is seeking a dedicated and skilled Manager of Packaging Circularity to drive our packaging sustainability initiatives. This role is crucial in managing and advancing Chobani’s packaging circularity projects and supporting the development of our comprehensive roadmap that spans compliance to overall ambition, and supports our carbon reduction efforts. Reporting to the Director of Sustainability this individual will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, R&D, Legal, Engineering, and Marketing, to enhance our packaging practices and meet our sustainability goals.

Responsibilities

Strategy Support: Support the development and execution of Chobani’s packaging circularity strategy, including setting targets and goals and tracking progress. Contribute to the creation of a detailed roadmap for packaging circularity, outlining milestones and deliverables. Project Management: Track project progress, identify potential risks, and implement solutions to keep projects on track. Reporting and Analysis: Monitor and report on the performance of packaging circularity initiatives, using data to drive improvements and adjustments. Prepare regular updates and presentations for internal stakeholders on project status and outcomes. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive progress against Chobani’s packaging circularity goals listed below: Procurement to assess and integrate sustainable materials into our packaging supply chain. R&D to incorporate circularity principles into new packaging designs and product innovations. Legal to ensure compliance with packaging and waste regulations including Extended Producer Responsibility legislation Marketing to effectively communicate our packaging sustainability efforts and achievements Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain relationships with external partners and industry groups to stay informed about best practices and regulatory developments. Serve as POC with Producer Responsibility Organizations within states where Extender Producer Responsibility laws exist.  

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Packaging Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Science, etc.) 5+ years of experience in packaging sustainability, circular economy, or a related field, ideally within the food and beverage industry or a consumer packaged goods company Strong understanding of packaging materials, circularity principles, and sustainability practices and trade-offs and the ability to understand acronyms like PET, PP, PS, HDPE, CAA, EPR, PCR, APR, H2R, TRP and SPC Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners. Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, and an expert comfort level with collecting and analyzing data to draw conclusions, evaluate environmental impacts between packaging choices, and develop/monitor targets. Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Compensation Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00, plus bonus.
