Manager, Patient Accounts

 

The Patient Accounts Manager is responsible for maintaining the Hospital's billing, collections and accounts receivable at acceptable levels. Duties include organizing and coordinating all billing and dunning functions, ensuring the audit ability of billed accounts as well as minimizing billing denials, preparing accounts receivable, bad debt, and other financial reporting measures as requested, and acting as a liaison with other departments on billing issues.  You must have proven leadership skills and experience, be an excellent communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills, and be able to build and lead customer-service-oriented teams.  Must be effective in interactions with hospital staff, physicians, patients and their families to ensure effective guest relations on all levels.  

EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE:

Required:

College degree in Business Administration or related field preferred with 3–5 years of management experience in a Hospital Patient Accounts department required.  Excellent computer skills and knowledge of all third-party billing requirements, including the Health Safety Net, are required. Prior experience with Information Systems upgrades and conversions preferred. This position reports to the Senior Director of Revenue Cycle and Patient Access and oversees all the Patient Accounts staff and functions.
