KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Employee Relations:

Provide guidance and advice to department heads|management and employees in the interpretation of company policies, procedures, and programs Analyze, diagnose and help implement proper solutions for complex employee relations issues, taking into consideration business needs, employment law and specific circumstances - Conduct investigations and consult with the Legal Department as appropriate Assist with conflict resolution, fostering open communication and providing formal mediation where necessary Assist in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans as necessary Counsel management in preparation for employee terminations and participate in termination meetings as appropriate Develop and manage the exit interview process Stay current with changes in employment law and emerging trends in application of human resources strategies and communicate with People and Culture team members Ensure compliance with any legal or regulatory changes pertaining to labor, wage and hour, and employment laws, including manager communication|training Union aversion training

 Professional Learning & Development:

Assist department heads and managers in identifying talent, diagnosing learning needs and planning appropriate developmental opportunities Develop and manage division succession planning Assess learning and development needs within the organization and create programs to influence change Administer the company's performance management and compensation review programs for their client group - Ensure timeliness, consistency and distinction of performance ratings and standards Advise managers in the establishment of employee goals and counsel management on proper ways to evaluate and communicate job performance to employees - Train managers on how to coach employees - Provide leadership development, coaching and mentoring of staff

Organizational Development:

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing guidance, constructive feedback and consulting on effective leadership and building teams in service of the business - Consult on all aspects of organization design, role design, workforce planning, leadership development and employee engagement Actively participate in meetings to remain abreast of current and future activities and act as consultant on people-related matters Lead the performance review and goal setting process to ensure team goals are aligned with business objectives

 Compensation & Benefits:

Partner with management to plan and forecast business strategy as needed and establish related departmental goals Provide guidance on job analysis and the creation or revisions of job descriptions Assist with and ensure proper processing of employee status change requests and paperwork - Guide managers to ensure responsibility fulfillment on an ongoing basis.  Assist in the administration of leaves of absence and ADA accommodations

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of five or more years of progressive People & Culture (HR) experience in the State of California High degree of knowledge of California employment law and practices Solid sense of accountability, sound personal judgment, and maturity Strong interpersonal and coaching skills including patience and ability to work well with staff of all levels Strong leadership skills Strong analytical skills and good reasoning abilities Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and non-routine information is a professional manner Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills, including ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment Prior success working closely with an executive team to develop effective People & Culture strategies to address the professional development, performance management, retention and hiring of talent Experience operating with a workforce more than four hundred team members Experience working with diverse populations Understanding of workforce demographic issues|trends Strong understanding of traditional People & Culture tools: organization design, performance management, People & Culture measurement and legal compliance Knowledge of ADP WorkforceNow and Greenhouse is a plus Knowledge of Retail industry is a plus Ability and willingness to be both strategic and tactical and can drive solutions in a fast-paced environment Entrepreneurial mindset, taking initiative and makes recommendations on process improvement Bachelor’s Degree required English, additional language(s) is a plus Schedule of this position:  Monday – Friday | core business hours (typically, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm) | Onsite
