Job Description:

The Growth & Performance team within Sun Life's Client Experience Office is continuously launching and testing new ideas, platforms, and solutions to generate new leads and identify opportunities for existing clients and group members. The Manager, Performance Marketing & Insights will be responsible for managing marketing analytics, external digital funnel performance metrics, and providing data-driven insights to support Sun Life's strategic growth initiatives.

What will you do?

Own data & insights for our External Digital Funnel, including paid and organic search & social mediaTrack paid funding performance over time, highlighting areas of opportunity and where targets were missed or exceededProvide a single source of truth for the external digital teams and agency partners to continuously optimize our digital marketing campaignsIdentify trends in organic search (branded and generic) & social media performance and share of voice as it relates to media spend and seasonalityPartner with SEO and SEM teams to continuously optimize & enhance our engines and lead the A/B testing agendaDefine & analyze core marketing KPIs (impressions, page visits, clicks, leads & visit to lead conversion, cost per impression, cost per click, cost per lead, cost of acquisition)Partner closely with the Manager, Leads Strategy & Insights to set robust targets & forecasts and tell a complete story of external digital funnel performance and its impact on overall leads acquisition portfolioPrepare data insights and reporting packages for senior leadership, translating data into actionable recommendations as neededAssist in the development of business cases and financial models for new strategic initiatives, including investments in marketing technology and campaignsLeverage analytics and consumer insights to drive investment prioritization and improve user experience on owned channelsChampion a "test and learn" strategy to scale effective digital content marketing initiatives nationally

What will you need to succeed?

Advanced proficiency in Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, Microsoft Excel, Tableau, and PowerPointStrong ability to combine data from multiple sources, create compelling visualizations, and tell impactful stories with dataExceptional analytical skills with proven ability to translate data analysis into strategic recommendations, forecasts, and planningDeep understanding of digital marketing tracking, pixels, optimization, and measurementDigital media strategy, planning, and buying experience; in-platform experience a plus (Google platforms, Meta, Amazon, Yahoo)Superior interpersonal skills, with proven ability to collaborate and influence across multiple levels of an organizationSelf-motivated, able to work both independently and collaboratively with multi-functional teamsStrong presentation and written communication skills with significant exposure to senior managementAbility to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, and activities with effective judgment in prioritizing

What will be nice to have?

8+ years of progressive experience in digital marketing, analytics, strategy development, or business growth functionsUniversity degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA or professional certifications (e.g., Digital Analytics) considered an assetExperience in life insurance/wealth management or other financial services industryExpertise in visual analytics and design principles

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
