We look forward to the opportunity to speak with you!_ Key Responsibilities: Operational Services: + Design and implement operational services, including dispensing and compounded product preparation, which support the pharmacists' provision of pharmaceutical care. + Schedule pharmacists to effectively cover the hours of operations of the pharmacy as well as on-call hours. + Assure pharmacy is in compliance with all federal and state regulations. + Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with clinical practice standards and regulatory/accreditation requirements. Collaboration and Relationships: + Maintain productive, collaborative relationships with physicians, nurses, departmental managers, and others in clinical leadership roles to achieve short and long-term goals for related programs and clinical services. + Facilitate staff involvement in established departmental programs, e.g., quality improvement, patient/professional education, and staff development. Develop staff advancement opportunities and foster an environment conducive to innovation and progressive learning. Pharmaceutical Care: + Develop, implement, direct, and monitor the delivery of pharmaceutical care. Ensure patient/customer satisfaction and implement measures to correct perceived deficiencies in care and service. + Integrate the distributive and cognitive aspects of pharmaceutical care. + Ensure provision of cost-effective drug therapy through analysis of patient outcomes; validate that care is provided according to current standards of practice; support and monitor the quality improvement program. Staff Management: + Assist with the recruitment, hiring, and mentoring of staff and colleagues through feedback, positive discipline, and performance evaluations. Enforce progressive corrective action appropriately. + Maintain a current body of knowledge in the areas of their service with regard to drug therapy and technology. Complete all staff pharmacist competencies. Residency Program Leadership: + Direct and manage the PGY1 Residency Program, including recruitment, training, and mentorship of pharmacy residents and preceptors. + Develop and implement residency program curriculum and assessment strategies to meet ASHP accreditation standards and resident learning needs. + Foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement within the residency program. Research and Development: + Promote, support, and conduct research related to practice. Budget and Compliance: + Assist with the preparation and monitoring of the budget for areas of responsibility, including drug and personnel costs. + Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy. + 4 years of progressive pharmacy experience, including both dispensing and consultant experience. + Management experience preferred. Role Preferences: + Licensure: Licensed pharmacist in Pennsylvania + Education: PharmD degree from an accredited institution, completion of PGY1/PGY2 residency or minimum of five years of relevant pharmacy practice experience if no ASHP-accredited residency was completed + Experience: Proven experience in clinical services leadership and residency program management, demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team. Preceptor Abilities: + Board Certification: BPS certification in a relevant area. + Advanced Education: Advanced degrees (e.g., MS, MBA, MHA) are highly valued for the additional expertise and leadership skills they bring. + Professional Involvement: Active involvement in professional organizations and demonstrated contribution to pharmacy practice. + Matrix Organization Experience: Experience working within a matrix organization. + Skills: Strong leadership and communication, ability to innovate and lead change, and a commitment to mentorship and professional development. + Leadership Training: Completion of the Pharmacy Leadership Academy (DPLA) or equivalent training. + Specialized Training: Postgraduate fellowship in the advanced practice area, providing specialized knowledge and skills. + Certification: Leadership-related pharmacy certification recognized by the Council on Credentialing in Pharmacy (CCP), demonstrating a commitment to high standards of practice.
