Our Global Procurement Team is looking for a driven and reliable Procurement Manager whose action-oriented mindset and positive attitude will foster continued growth throughout our leading brands.

In this highly visible role, the Procurement Manager will be responsible for developing and leading the chemical sourcing strategy for Church & Dwight’s Home Care & Personal Care in accordance with C&D Procurement methodology.  The right candidate will effectively lead sourcing initiatives, develop category strategies, lead critical supplier relationships, work cross functionally to execute G2G and supply resiliency projects and lead contract negotiation & execution for the company’s most critical brands.

Responsibilities

Lead the identification and selection of chemical suppliers, ensuring they meet standards for supply assurance, service, cost, quality, regulatory compliance, responsible sourcing and supplier diversity

Primary point of contact for all key stakeholders, owning all operational activities related to the sourcing and supply of chemicals used in the manufacturing of  brands such as Arm & Hammer, Therabreath, Trojan, Orajel, Nair among others.

Identify and execute strategic initiatives within the subject categories assuring supply, driving resiliency and optimizing cost and value creation for the organization

Partner closely with key stakeholder teams to understand critical business requirements and develop strategies for key procurement initiatives

Develop category strategies for respective spend categories: complete spend analysis, define business requirements, perform market research, conduct industry and category analysis, initiate risk analysis

Manage and execute all steps of the six-step strategic sourcing process including developing and executing sourcing strategies, negotiating with suppliers, conducting bid analysis, and leading supplier selection

Own supplier contract development and execution, leading negotiation efforts with suppliers in collaboration with Corporate Legal Team

Provide aggregate reporting on category performance and key metrics such as purchase price variance, supplier service, material quality, G2G cost savings, cash flow generation and supplier reliability

Monitor and research industry trends as well as best practices, and adopt them as appropriate for assigned spend categories 

Manage and optimize functional sourcing support activities while ensuring adherence to stakeholders’ corporate standards

Manage internal customer relationships through cross functional business engagement, and develop deep category knowledge in the assigned category areas

Drive Supplier Relationship Management including, but not limited, to supplier segmentation, scorecarding and KPI management and continuous improvement initiatives

Competencies/Skills

Excellent business partnering, communications skills, and strong process focus

Robust industry experience and category subject matter expertise in Chemical / Raw Material Procurement. Expertise should include knowledge of industry trends, prominent suppliers, industry procurement strategies and levers, etc.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills (i.e. excel modelling, Power BI) 

High degree of motivation, the ability to prioritize and self-direct and strong interpersonal skills. 

Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills required 

Excellent people management and mentoring skills

Qualifications/Experience   

Education:   

Bachelors (required), MBA (preferred) CPIM, CSCP or CPM certification (preferred)  

Experience:   

5+ yrs. relevant Procurement or Supply Chain experience. Min. 3 yrs. Category Management experience in Chemical / Raw Material Procurement   

Proficiency:   

Robust systems expertise including SAP/ERP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook,

AI, Power BI
