**Manager, Procurement - Direct**
**Position Summary**
Under direct leadership, the **Manager of Procurement** will hire, lead, and mentor the direct procurement team. This person will develop, implement, and evaluate the company’s direct procurement strategies and processes. Their goal is to develop a database of potential suppliers and cultivate working relationships to ease the process of acquiring materials and/or services and to design purchasing strategies that ensure constant availability of inventory and/or services within the company’s budget in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.”
_This position is located on-site in our Daventry location._
**Essential Functions**
+ Manages a team of three (3) to five (5) people responsible for direct purchasing
+ Plans and oversees the work of Commodity Managers
+ Hires and trains new staff
+ Develop sourcing strategies
+ Use Industry knowledge and expertise to cultivate new supplier relationships
+ Develop sourcing strategies by analyzing the supply base, market conditions, and technology roadmaps
+ Lead contractual negotiations with suppliers on NDA’s, General Terms & Conditions and Production Supply Agreements
+ Support business planning initiatives and milestone attainment
+ Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers, acting as the lead for all commercial issues
+ Manages suppliers for Cost, Quality, and Delivery
+ Identifies constraints that may impact production schedules
+ Works in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrate ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals
+ Performs other duties as assigned
**Qualifications:**
Required Education/Experience
+ Six plus (6+) years of related experience as Purchasing Manager, Senior Buyer, or equivalent
+ Degree in business, supply chain, or other relevant fields
+ Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems, and maths
+ Knowledge of procurement strategies
Preferred Education/Experience and/or Certifications
+ Proficient in Fishbowl or similar MRP systems
+ Experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing
+ Prior experience in rapid growth environment
+ Powertrain procurement or development experience a plus
**Skills/Abilities and Attributes**
+ Strong ability to coach and lead team members within the department
+ Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems, maths, and statistics
+ Effective written and verbal communications skills; ability to express ideas clearly and actively listen to others
+ Team oriented, with a strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to multiple deadlines
+ Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently
+ Excellent time management with an ability to balance multiple projects and timelines and to meet deadlines
+ Positive attitude and strong work ethic
**Physical Demands/Work Environment**
+ Must be able to drive and travel for business, including occasional travel by commercial airplane
+ Must be able to work in a seated, standing, and/or walking position for extended periods
+ Must be able to use fingers, hands, and arms at computer keyboard for extended period
+ Must be able to speak clearly and distinctly and hear and be heard and understood in person and by telephone
