About the role:
WEG Electric Corp. has an excellent opportunity for a Manager, Product – LV Drives and Soft Starters You will lead the Product Management strategy and activities for product positioning and competitive differentiation across all stages of the customer journey. This includes marketing campaigns, promotions, content, sales collateral and training to support awareness and product benefit messaging to the customer base. This position is also responsible for managing and leading Product Specialists for specific product categories and Application Engineers providing 2nd level pre-sales support and custom enclosed quotations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Create, execute and maintain a marketing business plan to drive WEG Low Voltage Drive and Softstart business in the US Develop and execute marketing programs to increase awareness and drive demand for the product portfolio Maintain and guide the AC Drive and Softstart portfolio of products through the standard Product Lifecycle Management process as well as launch new products to the US market. Collect and deliver product requirements of the US market for AC Drive and Softstart products to global HQ colleagues for roadmap innovations. Develop and deliver “benefits based” sales trainings to WEG sales, reps, and Channel Partners Interface with other groups as necessary including; Customer Service, Marketing, Technical Support, Distribution Partners, Sales, and other WEG Business units. Create annual product business plan, define action items and track results Thorough technical knowledge of product design, key features, competitive comparison, applications, target markets, and strengths and weaknesses of assigned product compared to major competitors. Must have strong communications skills to effective communicate with customers, sales reps, application engineers, and other inside support staff. Must have a thorough understanding of WEG;s regional market requirements for assigned products and must drive WEG Automation Headquarters to include these requirements in the design of existing or future products. Must work with WEG Automation Headquarters and local marketing teams to develop and launch all product related promotional activities which include cataloging literature, advertising, web content, press release, sales news and other policies. Maintain and communicate a product roadmap for assigned products. Develop and maintain sales tools such as competitor comparisons, product configurators, application notes, quoting tools, promotional videos, seminars, webinars, corporate website and others. Develop and maintain materials and programs for training sales teams, product support teams and customers. Work with WEG’s logistics, manufacturing and finance teams to maintain proper inventory levels. Work with the Technical Support group to continuously improve the efficiency of technical support and maintain all technical data and documents in an easy to access location. Manage pricing and part numbers for assigned product. Meet or Exceed financial goals Manages team in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance. Responsible for addressing employee complaints and resolving problems. 25% travel
Education: (minimum education or equivalent in relevant experience)
Bachelor's in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline preferred.
Knowledge
Must have a deep product and market understanding of the LV Drive and Softstart product areas in the discrete and process industries. Superb leadership abilities with strong decision making skills. Ability to effectively assign responsibilities and hold team members and self accountable. Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties. Team player. Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights for ROI tracking and to determine what is, and what is not, working. Creative thinker with a customer-centric approach. Proficiency in marketing automation and analytics tools. Proven success in overseeing all elements of the product management and development lifecycle. Demonstrated experience in a market-facing role (e.g. delivering presentations to customers and prospects, conducting competitor analysis and market research). Exceptional writing and editing skills, combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint as well as Outlook.
