Position Description:
Utilizes Jira and Kanban software boards for viewing, managing, and reporting on work in progress within the software development teams. Partners across organization to increase strategic portfolio plans via shared initiatives, increases transparency via Jira Align, and improves forums and advances the standards of portfolio management systems. Leads and coordinates logistics for software development team ceremonies and practices such as backlog maintenance, sprint plans, daily scrum, and retrospectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Supports the overall performance of the team.
Identifies team improvement opportunities and searches externally for best practices to support continuous improvement.
Tracks the backlog of the work and ensures the workload is balanced across team members.
Maintains and updates the teams process metrics and artifacts and communicates to partners accurately and clearly.
Develops, creates, and modifies general computer applications software or specialized utility programs.
Analyzes user needs and develops software solutions.
Designs software or customizes software for client use to optimize operational efficiency.
Utilizes multiple metrics including burndown charts, sprint progress charts, and Fidelity flow metrics reports, to track squad progress as well as identify potential risks.
Monitors the software performance and maintains the health of the software implementation projects.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Manager, Product Management (or closely related occupation) facilitating Agile events, values, practices, and processes, and implementing continuous improvements to team deliverables in a financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Manager, Product Management (or closely related occupation) facilitating Agile events, values, practices, and processes, and implementing continuous improvements to team deliverables in a financial services environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing quarterly Program Increment (PI) planning and developing PI objectives, schedules, capacity planning, quality control, and release management plans, using Jira, Jira Align, and Confluence.
DE performing full systems development lifecycle - leading events, quarterly and sprint planning, daily scrums, backlog refinement, sprint review, and retrospectives; and tracking the execution of features and capabilities using standard Scaled Agile measurements (Agile and Scrum), including cycle time, throughput, lead time, and predictability metrics.
DE providing production support, troubleshooting and root cause analysis; performing quality assurance database testing on databases MySQL and RDBMS; and running complex queries for data mining and validation for financial calculations and analysis in a financial services environment, using SQL Developer and Putty.
DE creating the Automation Strategy for projects to reduce regression test timing using Selenium; performing code management using GIT; and increasing the efficiency, speed, and security of software development by resolving dependencies using DevOps.
