The Planning Supervisor oversees and manages the Planning Department to ensure processes, plans, and schedules on customer orders are based on customer needs and requirements by performing the following duties:
Works with Operations as Supply Chain leader in the release of work orders. This includes selection and control of jobs that may need direct handling through the operational process.Works as central point with Sales and Operations to optimize scheduling to drive and meet on-time delivery metrics.Develops recovery plan when delinquencies to the customer occur.Provides leadership and direction to Planners, increasing efficiency of jobs released to the manufacturing floor.Prepares shop routers and methods for customer requirements. Prepares orders for sub components and assemblies.Maintains release files for sequencing of manufacturing lots.Maintains integrity of all customer change requests.Releases manufacturing orders based on customer requirements and manufacturing shop load requirements.Reviews daily manufacturing production reporting data to determine and maintain schedule accuracy.Responds to all reported manufacturing shortages and takes appropriate action to correct.Develop and modify electronic routers to improve accuracy of manufacturing requirements for each operations.Maintain system accuracy for assigned product lines and daily dispatch list.Interpret customer drawings.
