The Manager, Project Management Office – Central (H) is responsible for the oversight and administration of one or more programs and corresponding projects. The incumbent works closely with project managers, meeting regularly to align program progress, identify risks/issues, balance team capacity, and connect plans and resources to project execution. The Manager builds relationships with departmental leadership and achieves a strong understanding of their functions, initiatives, and projects, how business needs will be translated to workflows, and the team’s skill sets and expertise. Furthermore, the incumbent works closely with ePMO leaders, department leadership, and project managers to oversee project/program research, planning requirements and process development, status reporting, communications, transition management, budget and deliverable management, dependency mapping, and resource management.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Supports leadership by preparing and maintaining dashboards, performance reports, decks, agendas, and content for executive sponsors and other stakeholder updates.Partners with project teams and department leaders to ensure the accuracy of program and project data.Ensures project management documentation is updated and completed for each project within the program.Oversees multiple project teams, ensuring program goals and functional targets are reached while maintaining organizational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance.Identifies and actively manages issues and risks, evaluates solutions, develops contingency plans, and influences leadership and project sponsors to support the needs of the project/program.Communicates frequently with team members and senior business stakeholders regarding program status and identifies and resolves program problems, issues, and risks.Partners with business leaders and project sponsors on key requirements needed from cross-functional teams.Applies standardized project/program management principles and tools, continuously improving methodologies and tools in alignment with ePMO.Builds strong people networks both internally and externally to identify and optimize capability delivery, share best practices, and drive teamwork.Manages projects as needed within the program. Develops and coordinates program-related prioritization efforts and works with ePMO leadership to ensure smaller efforts are prioritized, assigned, and completed.Provides timely updates on high impact projects selected for board meetings and/or CEO dashboard.Serves as a liaison between ePMO, department leadership, and customer operational and executive leadership.Performs ongoing resource capacity planning and management for ePMO and project resources, ensuring compliance with resource plans.Supports the program/project intake and discovery.Handles urgent escalations related to the program or projects to ensure prompt resolution.Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; Master’s degree preferred
Certification and Licensing:
PMP certification required; PgMP or Change Management certification preferred
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience managing projects, ideally in healthcare and/or academic medical centers
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
