The Quality Product Manager oversees the creation, review and approval of all technical documents and Quality System SOPs for Private Brand products. This role is also responsible for the specifications, formulations, vendor testing, stability testing and safety of all Private Brand products through management and execution of established Private Brand processes and strategic projects. This role can be remote.

Responsibilities Lead a team to aid in the development of a Quality Management System which includes vendor management.Write, Review and Approve Quality Management System Documents.Manage the process to generate Finished Product Formula Specifications for new products utilizing the USP and others:Review and approve Raw Material Technical DocumentsReview and approve Stability Protocols and DataInvestigate findings as needed and modify formulations if needed.Work closely with the Commercialization and Brand TeamsWork closely with the Contract ManufacturersApprove Finished Product Formula SpecificationsEnter review and approvals within the Bamboo Rose Quality SystemReview and approve new or revised labels for Private Brand products.Manage the review and approval process for Existing SKU Finished Product Formula Specifications updates as required (following the contract manufacturer change control process or deviation process as applicable).Manage the Vendor Qualification of Supplied Products (Due Diligence) Monthly Testing Program: The Vitamin Shoppe utilizes a Supplied Products Testing Program to align with the Quality Promise made for all Private Brand products.  The Technical Product Manager will:Define the program in a written standard operating procedure. Investigate findings as needed and modify formulations if needed.Provide precise feedback to Quality Director on the program including but not limited to number of products analyzed, non-conformities, overall findings, etc.Review and coordinate Stability Studies Program with the contract manufacturers and provide detailed feedback to the Quality Director.Regulatory updates: work closely with Quality Director to maintain current regulatory knowledge.

Other Functions:

Performs other duties as required.Perform a PROP 65 check on active products in Bamboo Rose and PIM

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directs, guides, and evaluates one or more staff members. Qualifications

Education/Certification:                      

Bachelors or Master’s degree in a science related field

Required Knowledge:                           

Microbiological and / or Analytical chemistry, stability studies procedure, knowledge of regulatory aspects & GMP for dietary supplements, food, and other relevant product areas according to industry and regulationsKnowledge and understanding of the FDA or other applicable guidance’s for dietary supplements (21 CFR 111, FSMA,21 CFR 101, proposition 65 and others)

 Experience Required:                           

5 plus years in Quality Management Systems4 years plus in dietary supplements or food industry or related industryMinimum 3 years of managerial experienceExperience in microbiological and /or analytical methods of vitamins, minerals, herbals, botanicals, and other supplement or dietary ingredients

Skill and Ability:                                      

Excellent communication and supervisory skills.Proficient in computer programs such as Excel and other MS Office Programs.Must be able to fly, hotel and have a valid unrestricted drivers license.Must be able to travel for 12 to 15 trips per year with several overnight stays expected.
