Manager, Regional Agronomy

The Manager of Regional Agronomy provides leadership and sets a clear vision for the Regional Applied Agronomy team and works to align capabilities with the needs of the respective Divisions and Nutrien Ag Solutions’ strategy. They will play an important role enabling organic growth through technical leadership and optimization of our North American Agronomic Network. This role will collaborate with Region and Division leadership, Proprietary Products, Seed, Digital Agronomy, Sustainability, and local Agronomists to prioritize and execute training of specific products, technologies, and solutions. This role will lead detailed training programs that increase product knowledge, confidence, and adoption of predictable, proven sustainable solutions and align with grower challenges and commercial objectives.  

 

What you will do: 
 

​​Manage a team of Regional Agronomy Managers (RAM).  

​Prioritize and oversee execution of applied field demonstrations, solution validation, data capture, visualization, and training in the assigned region to support regional and division business objectives. 

​In partnership with Division Marketing Managers, drive local technical marketing efforts focused on addressing grower pain points and production challenges while navigating them towards useful solutions. 

​Collaborate with data science and digital agronomy teams to build capabilities that optimize agronomic data capture, analysis, learnings, and knowledge transfer. 

​Establish and optimize a cyclical process to convert data into valuable, usable, locally relevant information and disseminate to support divisional business goals. 

​Collaborate closely with Division Leadership and local sales teams to identify and fill education and knowledge transfer gaps. 

​Increase crop consultant product knowledge, sales confidence, and adoption of predictable, locally proven, sustainable products and solutions. 

​Lead area product performance resolution process and assist in documentation and investigation of customer complaints, as needed. 

​Collaborate closely with Innovation Farms. 

​Install processes and run analysis on the business impact and performance of training our field teams.​

What you will bring: 
 

​​Bachelor’s Degree required, experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Degree in agronomy, plant pathology, entomology, weed science or related field.

Masters or Ph.D. preferred. 

​8+ years of related experience required, preferably with consultative agronomy. 

​Including 2 years' experience in a mentor, supervisor, or leadership role.  

​Including experience training professional trainers.

10+ years of experience preferred.

​Current and ongoing maintenance of a valid driver’s license. 

​Willingness and ability to travel extensively up to 60% the time. 

​Excellent time management skills.​

Active participation in one or more professional agricultural organizations preferred.
