Manager, Reliability Programs
**Job Category:** Engineering PL **POSITION PURPOSE** Serves as key agent in maintaining coordination between the certificate and the Engineering department with respect to reliability matters. Acts as the main focal point on mechanical and operational reliability levels of aircraft, systems, and components ensuring the lowest cost through analysis and manipulation of the maintenance/ inspection program. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES** _To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions._ Leads and directs associates in the analysis and evaluation of all forms of data used to measure component, system, and aircraft performance for safety and economic impact as outlined in the Engineering Procedures Manual. Develops, compiles, and disseminate reports which include reporting monthly performance and standards, as well, as exceeded control limits and conducts an analysis of those limits exceeded. Researches issues and identifies trends. Recommends changes to the Maintenance Program as a result of analyses. Reports findings and trends to Engineering and airline management. Leads department in the analysis and evaluation of data from the airline's Continuous Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) departments. Participates in the airline’s CASS meetings Develops presentations to include graphs, photographic supporting documentation, and vendor supplied data. Participates in airline daily and monthly meetings. Facilitates meetings with customers as required to support the airline’s position with regard to poor component performance issues and makes recommendations for resolution. Initiates and cultivates relationships with reliability departments at other carriers for exchange of reliability data, as well as vendor, and to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), as required. Analyzes reliability program-generated data and recommends time extensions for aircraft, engines, and components. Develops and manages a departmental budget. Fosters the Company’s core values and culture throughout the work environment. Screens, interviews and makes recommendations for hiring potential associates. Coaches and provides leadership, direction, motivation and supervision of direct reports. Appraises performance, provides performance feedback, takes corrective actions and oversees training and development of staff. Performs other duties as assigned. **REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES** _The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job._ EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associate's degree (A.A.) in Aviation/ Aerospace or related technical field or equivalent. At least 5 years of experience in 14 CFR Parts 121 Engineering and/or Technical Service departments. At least 3 years of supervisory experience. Requires a thorough understanding and working knowledge of all appropriate maintenance and airworthiness requirements of 14 CFR. (i.e., Parts 1, 21, 23, 25, 43, 45, 47, 65, 91,and 121), as well as an understanding of Operations Specifications D074, D072 and Component Analysis MSG-3. PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degrees (B.A./B.S.) in Aviation Maintenance or related field. FAA Airframe and Powerplant License. Certified as a Six Sigma Greenbelt or higher. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. DECISION MAKING Makes decisions daily on use of resources, performance and budgets. Decisions could require additional expenditure of resources if not sound decisions. **PHYSICAL DEMANDS** _The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job._ Able to focus with clear vision at 20 inches or less (computer screen). **WORK ENVIRONMENT** _The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job._ Typically not exposed to extreme environmental conditions.
