The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Medicine – Division of Infectious Diseases has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Manager, Research Support.  The Manager, Research Support provides program support to facilitate research. Furthermore, the incumbent oversees research operations to ensure efficiency and compliance with applicable regulations. 

Core Responsibilities:

Contributes to basic and applied research activities by collecting and analyzing data and maintaining databases.Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures and ensures all research is undertaken according to best practices.Provides guidance, mentorship, and oversight to junior research staff and students.Conducts meetings with research and other staff, outside agencies, and other applicable organizations and ensures functions are coordinated in a timely and accurate manner.Provides technical and program support and resolves operational problems.Assists in the preparation and publication of manuscripts and other program-related documents and reports.Stays abreast of developments in the field which may impact department functions.Advances expertise through continued education, training, and research.Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Department Specific Functions:

Manage and supervise IDEA Wellness Clinic outreach coordinators and research staff for the implementation of overall patient medical care, mental health care, triage of patient services and removal of barriers to accessing services.  Oversee work schedules for linkage to care staff, IDEA Wellness Clinic facilities management, and conflict resolution for patients and linkage staff.  Improve operational protocols by creating new approaches for linkage to services and general challenges.  Assist Program Director to develop innovative ways to collect patient data to document progress outcomes for current research initiatives.Ensure all IDEA Wellness Clinic staff are following the correct confidentiality/ disclosure protocols outlined by the University. Provide confidential staff progress checks on a quarterly basis to ensure team and individual goals are being met.Train all incoming linkage to care staff on outreach coordination principles to ensure cohesive strategies that provide aligned care to patients.Coordinate with the Behavioral Health Director to implement staff self-care strategies and protocols for patient mental health care access.

Core Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

Knowledge of business and management principles.Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
