Come work as a Manager, Respiratory Health Network and Community Partner Engagement-Centre for Lung Health with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!
The Centre for Lung Health (CLH) at Vancouver General Hospital Research Institute, a multidisciplinary consortium of world leaders in respiratory clinical care and research which includes the Legacy for Airway Health (LAH) and other programs, is advancing its activities in a way that requires support currently not available. A major related activity is launching the BC Respiratory Health Network with the goal of synergizing research and care for respiratory health across BC. The Network will focus on research targeting the prevention, treatment, and care of respiratory health conditions through cross-sector and inter-disciplinary investigative collaborations that are innovative and grounded in meaningful engagement of patients, communities at risk, and knowledge users using evidence-based strategies. The network will be composed of multidisciplinary researchers, clinicians, patients, and communities at risk, with linkages to knowledge users that include government, health authorities, not–for-profit organizations and industry to synergize translational research and care. The Network aims to: strengthen lung health research and enhance its relevance; catalyze rigorous evaluation of new knowledge and its implementation; and support mentorship, training, peer learning, and capacity building. The Network will create an enabling ecosystem by coordinating activities, developing supportive infrastructure, facilitating collaborations, and reducing duplication of efforts. Once established, the Network members will be able to create and share knowledge that is novel, engaged, integrative and oriented for action. The network will leverage existing expertise in stakeholder engagement and integrated knowledge translation within the Legacy for Airway Health (LAH, https://www.legacyairwayhealth.ca/), a program within CLH that is focussed on the prevention and care of airway diseases.
