Manager, Retail Demand Planning

Location: Winston-Salem, NC (hybrid, 50% onsite in our W-S facility)

Job Summary

As the Retail Demand Planning Manager, you’ll lead a collaborative team focused on creating accurate, data-driven forecasts and setting smart safety stock targets that support both customer satisfaction and business goals. You’ll foster a culture of growth, continuous improvement, and accountability, while partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Supply, and Operations to ensure forecasts reflect real-time market insights. With a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on problem-solving, you’ll drive process improvements, guide critical business conversations, and help shape how we plan for the future in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership: 

Lead and develop a team responsible for crafting weekly and monthly demand plans and setting safety stock targets using defined tools and processes.

Forecast Accuracy & Improvement: 

Monitor forecast accuracy and bias, analyze root causes of errors, and drive continuous improvement to advance working capital efficiency, reduce E&O, and optimize fill rates.Develop demand planners and standardize processes across teams to optimize processes, foster continuous improvement efforts, and ensure accountability for important metrics.

Coordinated Business Planning (CBP) Support: 

Facilitate the roll-up and summarization of demand forecasts for CBP Demand Review meetings, presenting data insights and key topics to support business discussions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

Support demand planners in engaging with Sales, Marketing, Supply, and Operations teams, ensuring data is accurately summarized across product lines and customers.

Forecast Validation & Approval: 

Coordinate the planning department's approval of EFT volumes, ensuring accurate checks and balances are in place for a reliable and justifiable forecast.

Market & Forecast Alignment: 

Partner with the Business Analytics Manager to align Liberty Hardware’s forecast expectations with market insights and sales projections.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.Experience: 5+ years of demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.Technical Skills: Proficiency in demand planning tools and ERP systems along with strong analytical skills in Excel or Power BI.Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to drive collaboration across functions. Combination of strong analytical skills as well as ability to summarize data and concepts for leadership-level viewing. Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, evolving (retail or e-commerce) environment.
