Manager, Revenue Accounting

The Revenue team is responsible for ensuring the integrity of world-wide revenue by providing technical expertise, business sense, and a strong desire to improve processes and controls. The Manager, Revenue Accounting reports to the Senior Director of Revenue, and has responsibility for operational aspects of the Company’s revenue streams, which include product, maintenance, software, SaaS and services revenues. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of revenue accounting systems, processes and best practices along with thorough knowledge of revenue accounting technical requirements for ASC 606. Due to the high growth and high velocity nature of the Company, the candidate must be detail oriented, have strong organization and communication skills, and be very hands-on. 

What you’ll be doing:

Review of contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606. Responsible for areas of  monthly revenue close, which includes preparation of journal entries and account reconciliation and analyses of revenue, deferred revenue and contract assets. Demonstrate thorough understanding of the Company’s products and services, revenue streams and distribution channels. Establish strong working relationships with key contacts in other departments including Sales, Product Operations, Legal and IT. Lead continuous review and improvement of revenue systems and business processes related to Order to Cash process for IPO readiness. Assist in preparing management reports including revenue analysis and metrics. Assist with operationalizing new sales models and reports to support revenue forecasting function. Responsible for Standalone Selling Price compliance. Perform and review monthly account analyses and reconciliations, including validating deferred revenue, MDF accruals, Rebate payment.  Review customer arrangements and external communications for proper revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and revenue recognition accounting standards. Prepare schedules and reports in support of annual audit related to revenue areas. Ensure financial systems are appropriate for tasks performed and are developed, tested and implemented appropriately. Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and post-launch validations to ensure seamless system implementation of new products and services. Assist with Company's initiative for Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance by maintaining required documentation and coordinating the testing of Revenue cycle.

Experience you’ll need:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance, MBA/CPA preferred Minimum 7 years of experience with relevant revenue experience (ASC 606) including 3 years of Big 4 public accounting preferred.  Practical knowledge of general accounting practices. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with financial systems, large ERP systems / NetSuite(preferred), Blackline, Tableau, and SFDC a plus  Must be a self-starter, team player and able to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment and comply with tight deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail oriented with emphasis on accuracy Confidence, good judgment, energy and personality to work in a dynamic environment across all levels of management and across functions.
