Manager, Revenue Accounting
Introduction Introduction to the Role: SymphonyAI is seeking a Manager, Revenue Accounting to join our controllership team. This role focuses on order to cash operations, evaluating and advising on customer contracts in accordance with ASC 606, and ensuring accurate revenue accounting. The ideal candidate will be able to not only analyze complex revenue arrangements but communicate with and guide colleagues across teams on revenue recognition matters and design best practices to enable the company to scale efficiently. This role reports to the Director of Global Revenue Accounting. Job Description What you will do: • As a member of the deal desk, review and advise on non-standard terms in customer agreements. Evaluate and communicate impact on revenue recognition and compliance with company bookings policy. • Draft deal-specific technical accounting memos and policies. • Ensure that customer contracts are entered into Netsuite correctly. Maintain Netsuite revenue recognition module including SSP and allocation rules. Effectively leverage shared services team wherever possible to ensure system accuracy. • Perform month end close procedures around revenue recognition including running systematic processes, reconciling deferred revenue, and preparing manual journal entries as needed. • Prepare high quality analyses and supporting documentation such as fluctuation analyses and balance sheet reconciliations to support results to both management and external auditors. • Evaluate accounting implications of new product introductions and new commercial models. Create items in Netsuite to operationalize the resulting requirements. • Develop deep operational expertise to leverage systems, increase efficiency, and enhance reporting. You will become the company’s primary Netsuite ARM expert. What you will bring to SymphonyAI: • Experience in US GAAP, particularly in revenue accounting under ASC 606, internal controls, and financial reporting. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with internal teams and external auditors. • Strong analytical skills including ability to evaluate multiple scenarios and effectively communicate conclusions. • Strong attention to detail demonstrated by ability to analyze complex situations with minimal errors. • Strong organizational skills and ability to resourcefully manage multiple projects simultaneously. Requirements/Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field. Big 4 CPA is a plus. • 4 – 6 years of revenue recognition experience, with a combination of public accounting and Software/SaaS industry experience preferred • In-depth knowledge of ASC 606. • A high level of expertise using MS Excel (8 out of 10). Proficiency in Netsuite strongly preferred. Knowledge of SQL, Alteryx, or other analytical tools a plus. Base salary range: $115,000-$150,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual salary may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to work location and experience. The base salary is one component of SymphonyAI’s total compensation package for this position.
