Manager, Risk Communications Consultant

Develops and executes internal communication strategies/plans across communication channels, audiences, and client groups. Provides leadership communication consulting and change/communication consulting for large programs. Writes and edits communications, message points, and other publications. Partners with HR and Chiefs of Staff to effectively support clients. Responsible for all company external speaking engagements including conferences and events. Evaluates and documents opportunities, makes a recommendation, and provides talking points and reviews presentations. Provides communications counsel on corporate-wide initiatives. Leverages communications to help associates draw line of sight to department and company strategy. Manages seasoned communications professionals who provide counsel on communicating business strategy, elevating leadership profiles, managing issues and implementing corporate initiatives. Implements change management communications around new software implementation. Serves as point of contact for intranet/portal-related projects and requests. Works with clients to assess needs and directly with technical resource to deliver on requests.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver results-driven communication strategies and plans that help drive change communications efforts in support of the overall business
• Provide communications coaching to senior leaders - program communication leadership consulting, planning, and execution
• Create and implement ad hoc activities for departments such as recognition programs, surveys and results, volunteer relationships, promoting new products internally, etc.
• Develop, implement, and continually assess quantitative and qualitative metrics to monitor the effectiveness and business impact of internal communications
• Identify, build and maintain effective relationships with senior leaders, communicators for other businesses, HR partners, Corporate Affairs, and other key stakeholders
• Manage up to 3 people Level: Manager

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $126,700 - $144,600 for Communications Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
