Manager, Safety, Central Pharmacy

Job Description:

Baptist Health is looking for Manager, Safety, Central Pharmacy to join our team in LaGrange, KY.

Conducts routine preventative and post-repair inspections and audits of the facility and equipment.Ensures safe processes by identifying safety gaps and /or potential hazards and taking proactive measures to eliminate or mitigate risks.Assesses any safety needs that may be required when working on break/fixes of equipment or any facility related issues or updates.Serves as a subject matter expert on facility and equipment safety and assesses safety requirements for new equipment and/or facility implementation, upgrades, or updates.Collaborates with pharmacy leadership and Pharmacy Equipment Engineer to establish safety goals and ensures the Central Pharmacy Services Center meets both legal and regulatory standards.Provides support to departmental managers and leadership for the continual management, oversight, and improvement of facility operations, safety, and security.Maintains expertise with departmental policies, procedures, and practices. Assists with ensuring day-to-day operations of department take precedence and are uninterrupted.Assists with designing, integrating, implementing, monitoring, reporting and upgrading various systems ensuring integration into the automation system.Partners with the System Pharmacy Education Manager in the creation and maintenance of safety training and education for facility personnel.Responsible for ensuring the facility is in compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.Works closely with external auditors and/or regulatory agencies to provide all documentation needed during audits or site inspections.Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the regulatory requirements of The Kentucky State Board of Health, Kentucky Pharmacy State Board, Federal Agencies, ACHC, URAC, OSHA, Office of the Inspector General, Department of Building Housing and Construction, and other standards and regulations.Assesses the facility emergency response plan including evacuation procedures, communication protocols, and coordination with emergency services to support the safety of personnel in emergent events.Assists in the conducting of drills and simulations to test the effectiveness of the emergency response plan.Performs risk assessment and infection control risk assessment with appropriate disciplines.Proficient with responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job-related hazards, and national patient safety goals. Generates, maintains, and updates safety metrics and key performance indicators (KPI).Leads investigations into accidents, incidents, or injuries within the Central Pharmacy Services Center (CPSC).Conducts root cause analysis of any such incidents and recommends and assists with implementing corrective actions.Maintains all required regulatory documentations, reports, and records which include but not limited to safety records including incidents or near miss investigations, OSHA logs, permits, safety audits, and any other relevant documentation.

Minimum Requirements

Associate's degree in safety or environmental services3 years of direct job related experienceExperiential knowledge of federal, state and local laws including regulations from Federal Agencies, ACHC, URAC, OSHA, Office of the Inspector General, Department of Building Housing and ConstructionA valid driver's license
