Manager, Senior Safety and Health Program Advisor

We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply. **Job Summary** The **Senior Safety and Health Program Advisor** is a senior-level departmental position established to facilitate the execution of strategies, initiatives, and priorities established by the ES&H Director. It is anticipated that the individual who occupies this role will assume the ES&H Director role within the next 12 months. **Responsibilities** + Leadership and Strategy: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a strategic vision for ES&H function that aligns with the company's mission and goals. Lead a team of ES&H professionals to ensure effective program execution and continuous improvement. + Program Development and Implementation: Design and oversee comprehensive ES&H programs, policies, and procedures that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Implement best practices to minimize risk and enhance safety and environmental performance. + Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and interpret ES&H regulations and standards, ensuring that all laboratory operations comply with applicable laws and guidelines. Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and manage all compliance reporting and documentation. + Risk Management: Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures to ensure preparedness for potential incidents. + Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on ES&H policies, procedures, and best practices. Foster a culture of safety awareness and environmental responsibility throughout the organization. + Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish metrics and key performance indicators to monitor ES&H performance. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on program effectiveness and areas for improvement. + Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with laboratory managers, researchers, and other stakeholders to integrate ES&H considerations into all aspects of research operations. Promote open communication and collaboration to address safety and environmental challenges. + Performs management of staff (i.e., hires, trains, appraises, rewards, motivates, disciplines, recommends termination as necessary, etc.). **Key Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. + Minimum of 10 years of experience of directly relevant experience. + Minimum 5 years of management experience. + Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. + Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. + Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. + Exceptional writing skills. + Working Conditions: This position may require occasional travel to various company locations. Must be able to work in both office and field environments. **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience in a private, academic, or government research environment. + Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent ES&H-related certification. **Benefits: Live an Extraordinary Life** We care about your well-being, not just on the job.
