Job Description

Job Title: Manager, Site Operations

Location: West Chicago, IL

Classification:  Salaried Exempt

This role manages the daily operations at the Masonite Innovation Center in West Chicago.  The manager needs to engage and partner with functional leaders at the MIC including tooling, R&D, PMO and Engineering to ensure they have facilities and equipment needs to execute their deliverables.  Our innovation center operations work under the themes of Safe, Efficient, Flexible and Welcoming making the MIC an ideal location for our SMEs to successfully deliver their work.

Responsibilities:

Manage annual operating budget and forecast CAPEX for the siteApprove ongoing operations budget via coupa or similar platformActively support and contribute to Target Zero safety programCollaborate with fellow leaders to manage evolving needs at the site including facility and equipment changesManage pilot production team and pilot builds as neededProvide point of escalation to manage competing strategic needs that arise within the siteDevelops and implements an annual operating plan including capital plan, cost down projects, and production department budget.Maintains manufacturing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, and developing personal growth opportunities for employeesCommunicate job goals and expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and proceduresDevelop a culture of teamwork and commitment to the customer; service and quality are what make us successful.Identify, document and escalate longer term issues related to the site operationsSupport customer visits to the site

Organization

Reports to Director of Advanced Development or similar leadershipManage 1-3 supervisors/leads including facilities, maintenance and operations.3-10 direct reportsFull time in-office role

Qualifications:

Technical or business degree or similar with commensurate experienceAt least 5 years of experience in GM, operations management or similar leadership rolesProgram Management experience or PMP cert beneficialSelf-starting, accountable, high integrity, open communicator, strong work ethicIntermediate computer skills in programs such as MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook are required,General accounting knowledge helpfulStrong time management skillsMust be able to handle various issues simultaneously and prioritizeStrong organizational skills
