The Manager, Social Media Strategy, will serve as the day-to-day strategic lead for The Knot and WeddingWire’s Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok channels. In this role, you will be responsible for driving execution against the strategy and goals set by the Director, ensuring KPIs are met, and constantly refining best practices to improve results.
You will oversee evergreen and campaign planning, combining audience insights, creative briefings, and analytics to deliver measurable outcomes. As a critical leader, you’ll mentor and empower content creators while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture. You’ll communicate progress, challenges, and successes thoughtfully with the Director, direct reports and other teams to keep stakeholders moving together as we take social at The Knot to the next level.
RESPOSIBILITES:Strategic Planning & Execution
Own the day-to-day strategy and execution of Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for The Knot and WeddingWire based on established organic social strategy and roles of channels. Plan and oversee execution of monthly evergreen and campaign content plans that are aligned with brand goals and social content framework, rooted in audience insights, achieve KPIs and yield actionable learnings. In close partnership with the Lead, Social Media and Influencer Analyst, monitor channel performance, conduct testing, and refine strategies based on data and emerging best practices. Effectively communicates and presents results and recommendations in cross-functional forums. Collaborating with the Director, Social Media and Influencers, prepare points of view on emerging or opportunistic social and brand situations (ex: trends, crisis, platform changes)Team Leadership & Collaboration
Manage 2-3 direct reports, providing mentorship, clear direction, and constructive feedback to fuel their performance and growth. Set the pace and tone for the social team, fostering a culture of inspiration, collaboration, and accountability. Partner closely with Influencer, Integrated Marketing, Product Marketing and Performance Media teams to maximize the impact and return of organic social on collective marketing goals. Actively communicate with leadership, ensuring alignment on strategic goals and sharing key updates on team progress.Channel Growth & Optimization
In partnership with the Lead, Social Media and Influencer Analyst, prepare reporting and leverage insights to purposefully adapt tactics that grow following, engagement, and reach across social channels, including by developing learning agendas and testing plans. Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging platforms to keep the brand at the cutting edge. Partner with the Performance Media team on boosting to enhance organic social success.Operational Excellence
Ensure flawless execution of content and campaigns by overseeing workflow, deadlines, and quality control, optimizing processes as needed. Together with the Director of Social Media and Influencers, identify inefficiencies or obstacles and implement processes, systems, or tools to improve team output and satisfaction. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES HAVE: 8+ years of experience in social media management, with deep experience in strategic planning, creative briefings, analytics, and reporting. Proven track record of growing the following, engagement, and reach of a similar-sized or industry-recognized brand’s organic social media. Experience partnering with insights, influencer, creative, product, paid and data teams to integrate organic social into broader strategies and impact. Management experience, with the ability to mentor and lead a team of 2-3 highly-motivated, highly-satisfied direct reports. Proficiency in social media tools like Dash Hudson, analytics platforms, and project management software like Asana. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Strategic: Ability to thoughtfully plan, consider all relevant information, and align decisions with long-term organizational goals.
