Duties: Apply technology and Institutional business knowledge to support the Advisor Services (AS) Conversion Program and the future evolution of the AS platform. Focus on database architecture, development, AS batch and production support for AS applications. In-depth understanding of financial transactions to manage and develop 3rd party custodial feeds. Lead and support the delivery of complex OLTP and OLAP database solutions. Ensure optimal database design and production support capabilities based on DBMS engines for high volume/complex trading systems addressing database normalization concepts, concurrency control, and isolations levels. Lead and support agile software development practices. Support and enhance existing SDLC practices to increase quality and productivity. Position allows for 100% remote work. Reports to company HQs in Westlake, TX. Subject to Schwab’s internal approach to workplace flexibility.
Salary: $168,100 to $200,100 per year
Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.
What you haveJob Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Financial Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 72 months (6 years) of experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained. Employer will accept a 3-year Bachelor’s degree or 4-year Bachelor’s degree. Requires 6 years of related experience, which must include experience in each of the following skills: 1. Relational database management systems (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and Postgres). 2. Developing and implementing business logic using triggers, functions, stored procedures, and extended stored procedures while ensuring an optimal execution plan using SQL Server Management Studio, Toad, PL/SQL Developer, Visual Studio, PGAdmin, Bitbucket, and Git. 3. Building complex ETL design, development, scripting and database administration task automation using MS SQL Server Integration Services, BCP, SQL Loader, Tidal Automation, SQL Server Agent, Python, C#, and Powershell. 4. Performance tuning code/solutions running on SQL Server/Oracle/Postgres using SQL Server Profiler, Perfmon, PSSDIAG, FogLight, AppD, Splunk, Toad, PL SQL Developer, and Query Analyzer. 5. Design and develop conceptual, logical and physical models for high volume and complex trading systems using Erwin or Power Designer. 6. Perform failover clustering, database mirroring, log shipping, point in time recovery, replication for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and PostGres.
