Manager, Software Engineering

Overview
The Transaction Management & Controls team is looking for a Manager, Software Engineering to help achieve time-to-market, quality excellence, and higher customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience journey, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset. A Manager position at MasterCard requires hybrid skills that involves knowledge of software development & quality engineering to develop a resilient software product that is testable in close to fully automated manner. Additionally, role requires experience of managing 10 or more-member scrum team that works on software development using Agile methodology. Also, understanding of design patterns, technology is necessary for this role to ensure Engineering Excellence is achieved by the team all the time.
Role
You will be responsible for managing a team that does programming, testing, implementation, documentation, maintenance, and support of systems application software in adherence with MasterCard standards, processes, and best practices. Responsibilities include the following:
•\tManage a team of talented engineers to develop high-performance, high-volume Java applications.
•\tWork closely with technical leads, architects, and product owners to help define/prioritize features and user stories.
•\tProvides direction to the team that develops high quality, secure, scalable software solutions based on technical requirements specifications and design artifacts within expected time and budget.
•\tHelp in evaluating technical solution alternatives for the business needs current and future.
•\tWork with project team to meet scheduled due dates, while identifying emerging issues and recommending solutions.
•\tEnsure team follows MasterCard Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
•\tContribute ideas to help ensure that required standards and processes are in place and actively look for opportunities to enhance standards and improve process efficiency.
•\tSupport collection and reporting of project and software metrics


All about You
•\tBachelor’s degree in information systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering
•\t10-13 years of experience of working on Scalable, Multi-threaded software products developed using core Angular, Java, Spring Core, Spring Boot, Spring Batch Hibernate/JPA, Maven/Gradle, PL/SQL, Unix/Shell scrips and deployed on Tomcat/PCF.
•\tExperience of managing one or more scrum teams of software engineers to provide technical direction to the team and resolve blockers faced the development team
• Good to have hands-on experience of working on both SOAP & RESTFUL APIs
•\tKnowledge of Cloud Native Development such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) & AWS
•\tGood to have hands-on knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
•\tGood to have working knowledge on Test Automation Frameworks & related tools such as Selenium, Rest-assured, TestNG, Postman
•\tGood understanding of Java/microservices design patterns is expected.
•\tKnowledge of common industry standard best programming practices.
•\tAbility to innovate and develop new approaches to complex design problems.
•\tExperience working in a dynamic and collaborative work environment and make independent decisions.
•\tAbility to learn and deploy new technologies as needed.
•\tExperience in building scalable, maintainable applications.
•\tExcellent verbal and written communication along with the Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
•\tExperience using the Agile Methodology and working with cross functional teams.
•\tProven experience building world class solutions on a global scale.
•\tExperience working in an agile environment and actively contributing to discussions at retrospectives/elaboration sessions.
