Position Summary:
Director of Software Engineering for Gliffy at Perforce is searching for a Manager, Software Engineering to join the team. We are looking for an engineering manager who has solid hands-on experience with Java/ and demonstrates excellent leadership qualities while driving Engineering Teams. You will be responsible for driving the technology roadmap and for hiring and retaining the best engineering talent around, growing your teams towards excellence and agility.
You will be a member of the Gliffy R&D staff rolling up under the Director of Engineering. The No. 1 diagram app for software teams, Gliffy helps companies draw together. Teams can drag and drop their way to compelling diagrams and productive collaboration. What’s more, Gliffy seamlessly integrates with most platforms including Confluence and Jira to bring ideas to life. Responsibilities:E2E responsibility for the software product deliveryLead a team of full stack as well as automation engineersDrive the group to work efficiently and consistently following an Agile methodology (Sprint planning, daily stand ups, retrospective meetings, etc.)Identify technical debt and challenges and drive the team to reduce themDesign solutions, evaluate architecture options, set technical direction and quality standards, guide implementationWork closely with key business and product stakeholders on building the technical and product roadmapWrite application code in backend tech stack (Java)Work with rest of the Agile team to break down business requirements into technical tasksCreate Proof of Concept solutions for new technologies and featuresAnalyse performance and security of the components you are working with and provide input for improvementsDo meaningful code reviews for developers in your agile teamMentor engineers to become more productiveRequirements:B.E./B.Tech in computer science, or equivalent experience with demonstrated proficiency8+ years of relevant professional experience in software development, ideally with complex enterprise grade systems and building scalable SaaS products2+ years of project management and people management experience is a mustProven experience in developing server side applications (API development) in Java/Node (mandatory)Good understanding and experience with at least one of modern JavaScript frameworks like React/Ember/Vue.js/Angular is desirableGood experience working with SQL and NoSQL based databasesGood knowledge of Cloud technologies(AWS)Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration systemsExperience working with CI/CD toolsExperience building high throughput, fault-tolerant, distributed systemsWorked in microservices architectureWorked in Agile teams (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP, etc)Nice to have:Experience with RedisExperience with HTML5 CanvasExperience with Kubernetes, RancherCome work with us!
