Sourcing Quality - Manager – Produce California
Team OverviewThe Sourcing Quality team consists of colleagues located in markets around the world.This team supports Food, Consumables and Health & Wellness. This specific role is for PRODUCE Quality and is based in CaliforniaThe associates on this team are passionate and smart with a history of creative problem solving and high standards.Our goal is to provide safe, high quality food at a value for our customers and members.Why should you choose this position over a similar one?Working with the Sourcing Quality team is a fun and dynamic experience. This associate will execute and learn about PRODUCE quality while interacting with business partners and suppliers across the globe.This associate will be working with international markets/suppliers and will be representing Quality at origin and for our consumers worldwide.The associate in the role will have the opportunity to expand and grow across categories and even across functional groups within Walmart.What is special/cool/unique about this role?The associate in this role will work on programs from the beginning of the season supporting the Sourcing Manager on quality topics:This includes:Collaborating with suppliers to confirm their programs meet our quality standards for international markets.Partnering with suppliers and cross functional teams during commercializationWorking with our suppliers to maintain quality during the season. Rarely can individuals get exposure like this from origin to end of the product at market arrival.Primary responsibilities/accountabilities for this role Technical support for Sourcing team and the business plan.Onboarding new suppliers into Walmart requirements and processes.Evaluating the supplier’s product and quality to confirm adherence to specifications.Quality inspection of final product before to shipping in origin.Partnering with the markets and suppliers when product issues occur, initiating CAPAs and working with suppliers to find resolution.This is a hands-on role. One day the associate may be reviewing supplier quality issues and the next day they could be visiting a supplier to tour facilities.TOP 3 MUST-HAVES FOR THIS ROLE
1. Bachelor’s degree in food science or related field (science, agriculture)
2. Quality Assurance Experience

Experience working in food manufacturing, orchards or packinghouses facilities.
Experience in produce categories: fruits and vegetables.

The annual salary range for this position is $84,000.00-$156,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
