Manager, Spiritual Care and Volunteer Services
Responsible for overseeing the delivery of spiritual care and volunteer/guest services, ensuring the highest standards of care and support. This role involves direct supervision of team members and supervisors, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. The manager develops and implements programs that address the spiritual and emotional needs of patients, families, and guests, while also managing volunteer recruitment, training, and retention. Additionally, the manager coordinates guest services to ensure a welcoming environment, collaborates with other departments to integrate services, ensures compliance with regulations, and manages the departmental budgets effectively. Job Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to: + Creates a working environment that promotes positive employee engagement, adherence to company policies, effective communications, collaboration, innovation, optimal productivity, and continuous learning. + Develops, implements, and manages annual capital/operating and personnel (FTE) budget. Uses resources effectively and manages expenses to meet financial goals of department(s). + Focuses staff on continuously building customer satisfaction for patients, physicians, colleagues, the community, and other departments served. Engages staff in continually raising the bar for service excellence. + Leads and facilitates the work of those delivering spiritual care, volunteer, or guest services. + Partners with Human Resources, Quality, clergy, Foundation, and community leaders to support an interprofessional approach to spiritual care and support of patient and family needs. + Oversees the CPE training program according to ACPE standards. + Participation in programs and administrative activities of the institution such as monthly leadership meetings, huddles, and other hospital-wide committees. + Contributes to the strategic planning process, day-to-day operations, standards of care or service, and attainment of organizational goals. Facilitates collaborative problem solving among interdepartmental disciplines. Advocates for and allocates available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe, and compassionate care or service. + Collaborates with department managers to effectively use the volunteer, spiritual and guest resources available, matching the talents and preferences of the individual to the needs of the department. Supervisory Responsibilities: + Oversight and management of all volunteers, spiritual care and guest services team members and supervisors. Other duties as delegated by leadership.
