The Opportunity
Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) is a team within Assurance that works collaboratively with clients in various industries to support them in building an effective and efficient finance function through offering a range of accounting, reporting and analytics services.
The FAAS leadership team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager with background in the consulting sector capable of playing a pivotal role in supporting the development and implementation of the FAAS strategic plans and initiatives. The successful candidate will be engaged in the strategic planning, execution and reporting lifecycle, enabling the delivery of MENA FAAS strategy in direct coordination with partners and leaders. In addition, the candidate will be required to support in the periodic FAAS performance reporting and in gearing different strategic initiatives whilst keeping abreast of key trends and market insights.
Specifically, the role involves engaging with leadership to support in fulfilling reporting needs by formulating impactful and compelling communication content and strategic presentations that would contribute bringing our purpose of building a better working world to the market.
Your key responsibilities
As a manager you will be responsible for Strategic Plans and Initiatives therefore, you will have to develop and maintain a deep understanding of industry trends and clients’ needs to inform strategy and initiatives’ development and rollout. You shall have to conduct market research and analysis to enable strategic decision-making, which will further support in the formulation and the refining of strategic objectives, plans, initiatives, and framework based on leadership guidance and liaising with different stakeholders within EY, where required. you will also support in the development of the implementation plan related to the MENA FAAS strategic objectives, plans and initiatives including the design of specific Key Performance Indicators, timeline, and other resourcing requirements while supporting and overseeing the implementation of strategic objectives, plans and initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall objectives and propose specific initiatives and provide support in the planning and execution of the agreed strategic initiatives as aligned with the leaders. Furthermore, you will also evaluate and assess the effectiveness of strategic plans and initiatives identifying areas of improvement and proposing recommendations, as necessary. You need to monitor and report on the progress of strategic objectives and initiatives, identify any challenges or implementation risks and propose solutions and mitigatory actions. You will also liaise with various stakeholders within EY MENA FAAS to ensure alignment and collaboration on the different strategic initiatives and plans.
As a manager you need to support in the development of creative strategy related presentation materials for internal or external use that align with the leadership team’s strategic objectives. Understand and analyze the leadership information needs, reporting requirements and the overall purpose and frequency of the communication content/presentation. Prepare leadership presentations and reports as pertaining to strategic plans, progress, and other performance reporting matters. Ideate, design, and deliver best in class creative content that align with EY’s brand and business objectives and prepare and issue internal quarterly newsletters including specific business updates.
Moreover, as a manager you will need to perform market research and analysis and synthetize insights into meaningful conclusions that would support the development of specific presentation content. Refine and improve presentation content based on feedback and evolving updates on strategic initiatives, plans or asks. Actively partner with the MENA leadership team to understand the ask and deliver specific solutions that meet their requirements. Compile needed information from multiple sources and review data quality and accuracy. Prioritize deadlines with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Understand and adhere to EY’s branding and design guidelines. Continuously coordinate with the leadership team for inputs and direction pertaining to the presentations. Champion Gold Standard content creation and design tools and processes.
Skills and attributes for success
Proven experience in strategic planning and execution with a background and knowledge of the consulting field. Proactivity, accountability, and results-driven people will flourish in this environment. Dealing with competing priorities, multi-tasking, working independently, understanding how to manage resources, and communicating effectively are key skills.
To qualify for the role, you must have.
Minimum of 7 years of consulting experience. Strong understanding of the business best practices and consulting sector in MENA. Excellent command of English and Arabic language both written and verbal communication. Strong visual design skills and proficiency in presentation preparation with excellent communication and storytelling competencies. Ability to provide solutions that effectively translate verbal ideas into creative, impactful, and cohesive outputs. Excellent command of MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) Experience working in a cross-border, multi-cultural and fast-paced environment. Ability to work in a demanding environment and work simultaneously on multiple projects while delivering results in a fast-paced environment. Ability to engage and manage different stakeholders. Strong project management skills.
