Primary Responsibility :

Improve Americold’s competitive advantage by leading and managing assigned spend categories and preferred Supplier Relationships through building partnerships with the Strategic Sourcing Director, Vice President Distribution Support ANZ, Procurement, Facility Services, Engineering, Finance and Operational Business Units to conduct opportunity assessments, execute sourcing projects, negotiate contracts, manage spend categories and report metrics.

What You’ll Do :

• Support of strategic category business plans
• Analyze current spend categories and identify savings opportunities
• Develop and Manage Vendor relationships and optimize supply base
• Support Americold’s business units to implement and maintain profitable and effective sourcing programs
• Recommend, Educate and train sourcing and procurement processes and policies with business processes and business unit associates
• Reporting Sourcing and Category Management metrics and scorecards

Evaluate vendor performance for profitability and service level standards
• Perform market research to identify best available and relevant products and services to enhance Americolds market advantage
• Maintain Americold industry knowledge
• Incorporating best practices of the time into Americold’s business
• Provide support for the Vice President Distribution Support ANZ
• Perform other duties as required.

What Experience and Education You Need :

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of business-related work experience preferred.
• 2+ years of work experience in Procurement or Category management or related environment
• Subject-matter expert in relative industries such as distribution, retail, warehousing , supply chain or logistics preferred
• Category experience in MHE or indirect supplies and services preferred
• Experience in vendor negotiations
• General knowledge or experience with E-Procurement systems knowledge required (such as Ariba, GeP, etc).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with intermediate to advanced skill level in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to travel an average 25% of the time

Physical Requirements :

• Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions

• Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks
• May require travel by automobile and airplane up for business
• May require a visit facility operations in temperatures at or below freezing
• May carry loads related to travel and occasionally lifts, carries, positions, or moves objects weighing up to 10 kg
• Requires the use of various electronic tools
• Requires the ability to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions: must partner with colleagues without exhibiting behavioral extremes
• Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to constructive feedback from executive management
