The Strategy and Planning Team is a highly visible team that collaborates with executive leaders in Disney Consumer Products (DCP) to develop strategies that drive business growth, with a clear path from strategy development to execution and impact assessment.
We seek a candidate with experience in retail/product strategy, management consulting, investment banking, corporate development, or private equity to support the development and execution of DCP’s growth strategy. The role requires superior analytical and modeling skills as well as a proven ability to collaborate across a diverse range of collaborators, including multiple levels of management within DCP and across The Walt Disney Company. You will report to the Senior Manager, Strategy & Planning.
What You Will Do:
Define and analyze consumer and retail trends across major markets, and translate analysis into substantial takeaways to formulate strategic recommendations
Work collaboratively with internal partners to develop and implement global growth initiatives related to geographic, brand or category expansion
Research and analyze new or evolving markets to assess whitespace opportunities
Conduct financial analyses to evaluate the size of the prize for new business opportunities
Develop go-to-market strategies for new business opportunities, incorporating inputs from various internal collaborators across teams
Create compelling presentation materials such as decks and briefs; verbally communicate key takeaways and recommendations with internal partners
Provide inputs for components of Disney’s annual strategic planning process with oversight from other Strategy & Planning team members
Work on multiple projects simultaneously with varying deliverable dates and consistently deliver projects on time
Proactively develop and maintain relationships with internal junior stakeholders and external data providers
Required Qualifications & Skills:
5-7 years of progressively related experience in retail/product strategy, management consulting, investment banking, corporate development, or private equity
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
Ability to quickly adapt information from various sources to construct a compelling and concise narrative
Previous experience working on cross-functional initiatives in a prior role
Strong problem-solving skills such as prioritization, critical thinking, and hypothesis development
Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with rapid project turnarounds required
Ability to think pragmatically, not just theoretically, and drive execution of concepts
Outstanding multi-tasking and collaboration capabilities
Ability to handle ambiguity where information is limited, timelines are tight, and expectations are high
Outstanding verbal and written communications skills with the ability to develop cogent arguments and present them concisely to internal partners, including executives
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $113,800.00 to $152,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
